After trying another brand of berberine, I'd pretty much given up on finding a natural alternative to lower my glucose. Although through better eating, exercise, I've gotten my readings lower than a year ago. Still, being insulin resistant, I couldn't get my numbers below the low 100's. I took a chance in ordering Horbaach Berberine HCL 500mg. I received it yesterday afternoon and took one after my last meal of the day (around 6 pm). I thought for sure it would take a day or two for it to work but I was amazed when I awoke this morning with a fasting glucose reading of 98. This past week it's never been below 108. I checked my glucose at various times during the day and every single time, it was below 100, except for one hour after my meal and then it was only reading 100. Currently a little past midnight, my glucose tested at 88. I can't remember the last time my glucose was 88 at midnight. I'm amazed how well this particular brand of berberine works. I'm really glad I decided to give it another try. I'll be sticking with Horbaach Berberine HCL 500mg. Thank you UPDATE: March 4, 2020 As in my previous review, I was very pleased with the results I received from taking this particular brand of Berberine. Thought I'd come back to give an update. The latest order of Berberine doesn't seem to be working as well as my previous order. Not sure if the formula is stale or what's going on but this latest bottle doesn't give me the results I'd been seeing before. I may have to lay off for a while to let my body adjust. I know that supplements aren't meant to be taken on a continuous basis for months and since I've been taking this brand of Berberine since late last year, it might be time to stop for a while. I still believe this is a good brand of Berberine, though. Insulin resistance gets tricky to manage when you get up in years. The old body just doesn't perform like it did when you're younger. I'll take a break and see if I can manage my glucose with just diet. I eat low carb and no processed foods whatsoever so I'll keep on with that and try implementing the Berberine at a later time. UPDATE: April 8, 2023 - After a break, I began using this again and it's working. I think it's important to remember that the body can get used to anything and cause a product to stop performing as it did in the beginning. After a few months of stopping, I was able to control glucose by eating lower carb but now back to using this when I tend to eat more carbs in a meal. It's working again. This is a good brand and if you use it properly, you will see good results. I've had no problem with broken capsules inside the bottle so I think it's just a fluke that sometimes happens. Don't discount the quality of the product simply because one bottle might have a broken capsule inside. Stuff happens.

I find this berberine product amazing. it most certainly helps me. I like this particular product make for the nunber of capsules, content, and packaging - at least until I opened the bottle of my 3rd shipment (ordered July 13). After opening the seal, I found the inside covered with yellow powder - see photo. It is a mess. I can't retrieve a capsule without the powder sticking to my fingers. I am assuming it might have been the content of a capsule that somehow opened, but can't see it. I don't know if I can trust it.

Works great and helped get me back to good liver ast alt scores after fatty liver diagnosis. I take Milk Thistle and Berberine together. It took a couple years and better diet but my liver scores are back to normal.

I was so excited to find this supplement. I should have researched just a little more before trying this brand, though. First, let's address strength. Either many reviewers did not understand how to read the label for strength or possibly the manufacture has changed the formulation over time. The label states 500 mg PER SERVING OF 2 CAPSULES. THIS MEANS EACH CAPSULES HAS 250 MG - (!!NOT!! 500 as stated by many reviewers.) 250 per capsule might be good for you but you have to understand what you are taking. At 500 mg (for 2), I could see my blood glucose meter drop immediately! The response was impressive. Next, the drawback: The half life is short. This means you would need to take berberine throughout the day rather than as the often recommended single doses. The second issue is that it's bioavailability is low. There are supplements that increase bioavailability (milk thistle is one) dramatically. My second tryout was with another brand with 500 mg per capsule and milk thistle added into the formulation. I have not tried this beyond a few days yet but I already can tell that my BG is more responsive with the stronger formulation and longer half life of another brand. Disclaimer: What is right for me may not be right for someone else, so I hesitate to recommend another brand. Just passing on info about bio availability and duration of response.

I WAS RECOMENDED BY A CUSTOMER THIS PRODUCT WHEN I TOLD HIM I WAS SUFFERING FROM ANOTHER PRESCRIBED MEDICATION SIDE EFFECTS. I WAS PUT ON A PILL AS A BEGINNER WITH DIABETES AND THE MEDICATION WAS GIVING ME A LOT OF OTHER HEALTH ISSUES. THIS PRODUCT WORKS BEAUTIFUL, IT DOES NOT GIVE ME ANY TYPE OF SIDE EFFECTS AND EVERY TIME I CHECK MY SUGAR LEVEL ON MY SYSTEM IT IS PERFECT. THIS IS A GREAT IMPROVEMENT WITH MY HEALTH AS I WAS MISERABLE BEFORE WITH THE MEDICATION GIVEN TO ME BY MY DOCTOR.

I used these to lower my blood sugar. My A1C is 7.1 so I was diagnosed with diabetes. I haven't started medicine to see if this works. I have used metformin in the past but get IBS with it. This works similarly but doesn't give cramps. It makes you go and it stinks bad but it is cleaning toxins along with eliminating sugar. It worked to lower and keep my sugars from spiking, but worked even better when combined with ALA (600 mg). I'd start with bs @ 140 and ate what I wanted in normal portions and it didn't get above 220. I'm at the beginning stages of diabetes. I still produce some insulin. The more carbs you eat the looser your stool gets. Flatulence stinks too, but it's cleaning you out! Awesome.
