Unfortunately, like everything, China. They are beautifully made. 

How would you recommend washing the blocks?

We recommend cleaning to be done with a soft damp cloth using a mild soap. Use of bleach or harsh chemicals can damage the finish or paint. Do not immerse wooden parts in water.
