Little Gingerbread Man (Mini People Shape Books) Board book – September 1, 2014

Chose the book because I thought it would reflect the essence of the traditional Gingerbread Boy. It did not I would not recommend this book.

Great for toddler.

This sturdy board book is a cute Christmas story. It shows the love our gingerbread man for his family as he builds a house for them. The final page shows the happiness of the gingerbread family because Santa visited them. This is a nice story for a very young child in your family.An extension of this book could be to build a gingerbread house. It is easy to do and will bring this story to life for you and your family.

Love it perfect for little hands

BARRON'S社のLittle〜シリーズの１冊でした。主人公（この本ではジンジャーブレッドマン）を型抜きした表紙に、分厚いボードが特徴的な、人形のような面白い形のシリーズです。　クリスマスのジンジャーブレッドマンの童話といえば、今や「捕まえてごら〜ん！」と逃げまくるストーリーが王道で、数多くの絵本が著されていますが、この本はそれらとは違うので（それらを求めている方は）ご注意です。　内容は、ジンジャーブレッドマンが家族みんなで暮らせるお菓子の家を建てるという、見開き４場面しかない短いものです。とはいえ、本文は、壁や柱はこんなお菓子で作って、こんなお菓子で模様付けして、お友達が来れるようにグミで道をつくって・・・と、始終夢のような、思い浮かべるだけでもカラフルで楽しい内容が最後まで続きます。何より、普通のボードブックの２〜３倍の厚みのある分厚い紙でできていて、約３０センチもの高さがあって、裁断面は赤く塗られていて、クリスマスのインテリアとしても素敵です。丸みがあって頑丈なので、万一ちいさなお子さんが乱暴に扱っても大丈夫そうです。
