Review: Great macro lens for video! - We have used this lens in so many situations now that I can speak to its build quality and its ease of use as an extreme macro lens. The image quality and sharpness have been stellar. Overall, a great and economical macro lens. Review: Make sure your camera sensor is extra clean! - What a fantastic, oddball lens. I bought this lens purely for shooting underwater macro photos and couldn’t be happier with the results. That being said, there are a few things to be aware of before you dive in (no pun intended). One, this thing needs a lot of light.... a LOT. Even with fairly high powered LED’s a few inches from your subject, you’re still going to need to crank up the ISO to get a decent shutter speed (f/14 is wide open on the lens!). Consider using studio strobes If you have access to them. Second, any senso dust (and I do mean ANY) will show up on your images in a big way. The plane of focus also means that anything on the front element will be far more of a distraction that on other lenses.
