Logitech G230
If you're deciding between these and the Logitech G430's, go with these. The only difference is the USB adapter the G430 provides which adds VIRTUAL surround sound, not true surround sound like higher end models. In terms of quality and sound, they do not differ, it's a matter of color in the end. I upgraded from a cheap Logitech headset that was not only uncomfortable, but had very poor mic quality, especially for gaming (I have a Mumble chat server with friends). I wanted to look for a great gaming headset without spending too much and I came across these. At first, I was a bit worried because some people disliked these but I decided I would risk it anyways. It was a perfect risk. In terms of sound, these have far better sound than any headphones I've ever owned. In terms of sound, they exceed the quality that my Sennheiser HD 202 and Sennheiser HD 419's provide, which I found as surprising since they are both great pairs of headphones. I want to continue to use these headphones just for listening to music and mixing music in general because there is a perfect balance of bass, mids and highs. However, I'll look a bit like a tool using headset to listen to music somewhere in public :P Now of course, I'm sure a more expensive headset will sound much better in terms of clarity, but I am VERY impressed with the sound on these, especially at this price point. The mic quality is also VERY good. I got on Mumble the other day with these for the first time and after configuration the settings within the client, I joined the channel and immediately, everyone knew I got the new headset and was relieved how well it sounded and how little feedback there was compared to my last headset. The comfort on these are also great. After about two hours however, my ears started to hurt. I feel that this was the case because I was wearing glasses. When I switched to wearing contacts the next day, I did not have any problems with ear fatigue, even after 3 hours. This is an amazing headset at a very competitive price point. I highly recommend these to anyone! If more colors were offered, I would buy another pair!

Pretty Good Headset By Logitech
Let me tell you guys right now that I do video games Let Plays as hobby and need a pretty good mic in order to do commentary. Also I was looking at reviews on this headset before getting it in hope of making sure that I get the right headset for me. That being said let me start with the design and look of the headset Design/Look: The headset is as you can see red and black with the Logitech logo on the side. The color of the headset is black and red which matches by computer a bit seeing as how I have a keyboard that is blacks and red. When I put it on it feel comfortable as I can adjust the headset to match the size of my head. The earpieces can be rotate up to 90 degrees with is a nice addiction if you need to do something that involve you putting the headset down without the risk breaking it. The earpieces look slim and fit into my ears pretty good. You can take apart the cloths ear cups and wash them which are a nice added touch. The headset has analog 3.5 mm jacks which I don't mind one bit. The wired is pretty long but be warned you should not have any unwanted wires around you otherwise you might trip and break it. Overall, it a really good looking headset added with the slim look of the earpieces make you want to buy them just by looking at them. Sound: To let you know now, the headset does now come with Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound. Instead it has Stereo (2.0) for sound. I play video games and while I was playing TF2 I heard everything around me. But to be honest I had headset that had Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound and not to say the headset's sound are bad, if you want to this these headset to listen to music, just understand it DOES NOT has Dolby 7.1 surround sound. Overall, I don't mind the sound of the headset as seeing as although it's not Dolby 7.1 surround sound it still feels like I can hear every sound in that headset whether listening to music or playing video games. Mic Quality: In my opinion, I saved this the best for last for a good reason. I already told you that I do let plays for a hobby and although I don't need a mic to do let play's I want to do it to help make my video interesting and to make myself unique from the others on a website I go to and upload. Now enough about me, the mic quality is pretty good. I had no problems when hearing by voice at the mic was near my mouth but I do something need to put it closer to me. Fortunately, there a part of the mic where you can move closer or farer from you if you have do.I haven't use the mic much in online video games but I pretty sure the people can hear me when I choose to speak. As for the noise cancelling mic it cancels any noise when you fold the mic. I had people talk in the back and the mic did pick up a bit from the background but the noise was low. I use the folding part of the mic when I don't need and I like using the folding. The headset has on-cable sound controls which is a nice added touch. The controls can adjust the volume and mute the mic which will be useful in the future. Overall: Pretty good mic and it just what I need to do my let plays Overall on the headset: The headset cost around 60.00$ on the Logitech website but I got it here on amazon for around 50.00$. This is not the best headset made by Logitech but it pretty good. I give it a four out of five due to the sound in the headset only being stereo 2.0 Sorry for the long review and thanks for reading.

Excellent for the Price - Hardcore Gamers May Want to Spend More
I have owned this headset for a few months now, and I would definitely recommend it for the price. Sound quality - Personally, I found myself wanting surround sound, simply because I prefer the full immersion that comes with it. But if you either don't have the budget for that, or simply aren't picky, then this headset is a no-brainer. However, if you are planning on listening to music more than gaming, I would recommend buying a dedicated pair of headphones for music. Otherwise, the sound quality in-game is astoundingly clear. Mic Quality - Simply put, this headset comes with the best microphone you're going to find in this price range. It rotates and bends freely, and once you find the right distance away from your face, your voice is heard crystal clear. Another plus is that the microphone isolates your voice and removes some of the background noise (although it should be noted that it does not remove all of it; if someone is violently rearranging silverware in the background, the microphone is going to pick it up). The microphone is definitely a strong selling-point for this headset. Comfort - The material that most of the headset is made of is a strong plastic, giving it a very light weight feel. Once you find the right setting for your head, you don't even notice that you're wearing a headset. While gaming, I have caught myself reaching up to feel if I was still wearing it. The ear padding is very cushion-y and the shape of the ear cuffs support large ears. I have small ears, so there is plenty of room and I don't feel any disturbance. The cushion on the top of the headset also ensures that you don't feel any pain from the weight (even though there is barely any weight to begin with). Durability - Despite the material it's made from, this headset is fairly durable. However, if you're going to be throwing it around in fits of rage, I would not recommend it. If you're a more peaceful gamer, this set is for you. The braided cable is also a plus, especially for cat-owners (or owners of other, more exotic animals... I'm not judging). Aesthetics - If you're worried about the red accents not matching your setup, worry no more. When you're actually wearing this headset, little to none of the red is really visible. The design is also visually appealing, with nice, discrete slanted angles. It would look nice on a headset rack. Overall, this headset is exceptional for its price range. Personally, the only problem I had was the fact that I wanted surround sound, which has nothing to do with the headset itself; in this price range, decent surround sound headsets are non-existent. I would recommend it for anyone who is on a budget and wants a nice headset. But if you play games a lot, have the money, and want that complete, immersive feel in your game, I would pay about $30-50 more for a surround sound set, perhaps the Logitech G35 or G930. If you want to spend a huge amount of money, I would recommend the Steelseries Siberia Elite. But for the price, this stereo headset is the best around.

Decent
For the price of this product, you cannot go wrong, but I did. I purchased this when it was approx. about $60 which was the worst decision for that price point. At the time I didnt know much about sound quality, build, comfort, etc. I just wanted a headset that I could use in gaming. When I first got the package it was really well sealed and nicely presented. After a week or so i didnt have any problems, but there were times I was not using the headphones, and sometimes due to the rather (REALLY LONG) cable that my little brother and baby cousins often stepped on it would drag the headphones onto the floor and away it goes. Luckily it never broke, but a week after that, it happened again and the peice behind the earcup broke, revealing some of the wiring. it didnt ruin the sound quality though which is alright. The sound quality is alright, not top of the line stuff, I can hear things a lot better with these than my crappy speakers, which gave me an advantage in competative csgo. Now let me talk about the comfort, the foamy earcups are comfortable when you first put them on, but after a while it begins to itch quite a bit on the side of my head, so I often have to re-adjust the earcups to scratch my ear and the side of my head. I would perfer much more expensive leather earcups for $60 (the price I paid for when I bought it) for gaming wise, I could go for about 1-2 hours playing with this, when I have gaming sessions for about 3-5 hours which you can tell is quite bad. The microphone is pretty bad (for what i got it for) when I would be talking in skype, the volume of the mic would adjust randomly, because the mic is pretty quiet I would have the volume on my mic cranked up to 100% and they still wont be able to hear me. This doesnt happen all the time, but does get pretty annoying. Also a side note, dust gets into the earcups rather easily, and cleaning them can be sort of a hassle from time to time (some of the dust still stays inside of the earcup) Verdict. Overall, the headphones are good for the price point they go for now, but if it was still at $60 (the price i got them) I would give it a 1 star. The sound quality is decent and not top of the line. Comfort is rather irritating but good for gamers who have shorter gaming sessions. The cable is really long and relatives would often step on it and the headphones would get dragged along. Theres mic issues from times to time if you dont have an audio interface it can get really quiet. Build quality decent. If you guys are thinking about buying this and you see this review, and all these bad things I say about it, its not as bad as i make it out to be, its actually a good pair of headphones but just not to my liking, you might not even have all, the problems I did with these headphones.

For the price point, this is perfect.
If you're a budget gamer with a hankering for a pair of over-ear headphones, you've come to the right place. Seriously. Primary features I love: ~ Fits entirely over even my ears. Which, while not elephant-sized, aren't exactly what anyone would call 'small'. And it fits comfortably. ~ Microphone quality. Much better than my last headset - which was a cheap headset, granted, but still. An upgrade is an upgrade. My previous headset was also a Logitech (of the H390 variety). ~ Audio quality. This ought to be a 'duh', but here it is - this sounds better than almost every other headset at the same price point. And even some beyond it. I do have one complaint as to the sound, but that will come later. ~ Analog jacks. Yes, I'm serious. I do NOT like USB headsets - because I've had too many issues where the USB piece has broken or bent to the point where it's impossible to plug in correctly. Plus they chew up one of my USB slots. So analog is a huge plus for me. It may not be for you - you'll have to make your own decision on that one. Primary features I dislike: ~ Weight. This thing gets heavy - particularly during marathon sessions and stuff like that. I've actually come away from the computer rubbing my head because it's sore right where the headset was resting across the top. I've come up with a solution that works fairly well for me - I tilt the headset so that the weight is resting across the forward part of my head, rather than the back. Primary features I hate: ~ None. I only really have one complaint with this product. Sure, the weight thing could be an issue to some people, but I'm more forgiving of that because 1) I've found a workaround and 2) more weight generally means higher-quality components that will last longer. So far, so good. My complaint is that, when using the volume wheel on the headset's cord, once you reach the...85% mark or so with that wheel, it no longer boosts bass or treble, but instead boosts high-end frequencies - which starts making the audio quality sounds 'tinny'. I don't like it. I generally leave it at 80% for best bass/treble with volume, and then control the volume from my keyboard.

Microphone Defective Out Of Box, Don't Listen To 4-5 Star Reviews, Poor Set Quality Unacceptable At This Price
Quoted most emphatically from my gamer daughter, for whom they were purchased: DON'T LISTEN TO THE 4-5 STAR REVIEWS. DO NOT BUY THESE. As someone who generally trusts overwhelmingly positive product reviews for budget tech on Amazon, I took a chance on these after the failure of the Creative Fatal1ty's I purchased and promptly returned a few months earlier. Both headsets cropped up on "Best Of" lists for affordable mic headsets, and given the hopeful reviews I figured it would be a good purchase to take a chance on. It's a bit of a bummer that both of the under $50 headset/mic combos that I've purchased have had defective microphones--it makes me wonder if going the under $50 is a smart choice for buying this particular sort of item, given the glaring microphone problems I've run into. Basically, I unboxed these and they seemed the perfect step up from the Fatal1tys. They have a nice weight to them, are made of fairly high quality plastic and rubber, and feel legit. The over-ear design does start to dig into my head after awhile, but they are oddly comfortable, and I like the soft earpads. I even liked the mic design--it's made of a thick, flexible rubber and hard plastic which feels sturdy and like it will last. Sadly the microphone within didn't. The first issue came when I plugged them in for use in OBS for streaming purposes. Although the headset itself worked fine--super nice audio in fact--the vocal levels were curiously low, despite much troubleshooting within OBS to make sure there wasn't some setting I'd missed. Cortana responded promptly to my voice, and I could hear myself just fine--if rather quietly--in a few test voice recordings. However, the PC microphone setup function showed no levels corresponding to my vocal input, and much frustrated troubleshooting with the sound options did nothing to improve the volume of my voice streamed through OBS or Window's built in voice recorder. I finally tried an audio splitter, but that seemed to make the low sound worse, effectively turning a low but clear voice into a muffled cry beyond a haze of static. I tried plugging the mic and phone inputs into the jacks on the back of my desktop, and while I could once again hear and record my voice without so much static, the levels weren't really worth the swap, especially for streaming or recording purposes. I spent awhile googling my issue, and ultimately decided to return the headset. Unless I have supremely bad luck and have just gotten two defective headsets over the course of two months (my PC's sound card works perfectly btw--tried and tested with other mics/headsets as well as my trusty Logitech webcam which oddly enough gets better sound than this headset did), I can't recommend anyone who's looking for a set of headphones to go the under $50 route. I was frankly irritated that I even put down over $30 for such bad quality...I'd expect a little better from that price, and what I got was what I'd expect from a $15 set. If you're looking for a good (not just decent--GOOD) sound solution in addition to good audio, save your money for a headset with proven quality and the cost to back it up. When it comes to headphones, you absolutely get what you pay for.

Still Great after 1 Year.
I've spent some time and money trying to find a comfortable pair of headphones that fit over-the-ear. There are many that say they are over-the-ear, but fall very short of that. However, this Logitech G230 Stereo Gaming Headset fits wonderfully OVER the ears. Completely surrounding your earlobes in comfort and sound. The cushions are also removable and washable, which is a huge plus. They sound fantastic and the microphone works wonderfully on our Teamspeak and Mumble servers. So if you're looking for quality, actual over-the-ear, gaming headphones (With a mic that works nicely!); these are perfect and won't stretch the budget. Year Update: 12/01/2015 These were purchased on November 27, 2014, so we've hit the year mark now and I thought I would update. To this day, these remain the most comfortable pair of headphones that I've ever owned. The sound quality is still excellent and the microphone works perfectly. I've yet to experience any problems with this headset. I attribute much of my enjoyment to the removable mesh ear cuffs, which I believe have helped immensely with the longevity. They are easily removed and cleaned, preventing the usual buildup you might have on most headsets. The mesh itself helps by being incredibly breathable, relieving me from the common issue of sweaty ears. Plus, since they're not covered with that slick "leather" stuff you usually find, they haven't suffered from breakdown or flaking apart as you find with other headsets. As my wife says, I have a big head. These fit my large noggin without a problem and completely surround my ears, which was always a big factor for me in finding comfortable headphones. Overall, these are more than worth the price. After a year of daily use and abuse, up to and including my beagle pulling them off my desk and head when she wants attention, they have held up without any visible wear and still work as well as the day I bought them. We paid $34.99 at the time and after the hundreds I've put into headphones over previous years, I can honestly say that these are well worth the cost. I've not been paid in any way for my review. I'm just that happy with finding a headset that fits all of my needs and is super comfortable.

TL:DR? For the money I paid, these things are pretty good. Ignore a lot of the 1-star critics.
First, I want to address all the "build quality" complaints everyone in the 1-star section has. I don't see those issues. If you man-handle them, yeah, of course they're going to break at the point where they're the least reinforced. I've had the set for long enough that I would have broken them where the 'weak-spot' is, and they are just not going to break that easily. I call b.s. on those complaints. Just treat them gently in the first place and they're not going to snap like twigs. Second, is the comfort. The comfort level, for me, is quite high with these. They really are for long-term wear if you want them to be. My only complaint is the foam band that goes around the top of your head. It is a little stiffer than you might suspect, even though it's foam. I have to wear these ever-so-slightly further forward on my head than I usually do with any other pair because the foam presses down on a vein or something, but it's not a deal-breaker. I saw someone say they're excruciating... Come on, man. I've found a comfortable way to wear them. I think anyone could. The thing I like most is that the ear-pads actually go, literally, around your whole ear. They don't press down on your ears at all, and you won't have the long-term throbbing ear pain that you would get with on-ear style pads. The fact that the pads are washable is also a huge bonus. One final remark on the comfort is in relation to size. Make no mistake, these aren't the sort of headphones you can just wear around your neck when you need a break. They're a little too big and bulky for that. The ear-pieces will press into your neck and rest against your jaw. This headset is either on your head, or on your desk. Pick one. Not a big complaint, necessarily, but it's an observation. Thirdly, the sound quality. I found that, even though these are 'stereo', the sound quality from them is fantastic. I had a comparable pair of Skull Candy ear-buds that were very nearly as good as these, but I think these are slightly better in quality. I went back and played Crysis on a whim with these, and I was amazed at all the small details I missed out on with my speaker system. Unless you can really crank your speakers, you don't get to hear a lot of finer details sometimes. *sigh* The downsides of apartment life... respect for the neighbors... Anyway, the bass is full, the treble is good, the middles aren't drowned out by either, and the volume these headphones can achieve is staggering. You really don't need to have your PC volume up very high to hear things very clearly. The microphone is what I would call 'decent'. It's not going to give you a studio-quality sound over Teamspeak or Ventrilo or anything like that, even if the channel has high codec quality, but you will come across clearly more-so than a cheapo 13 dollar set from Walmart or something. Also, please make sure you tweak your volume control options to have mic-boost enabled. Without that, you might run into some issues that others were describing where you couldn't be heard. I'm also using an actual sound-card rather than built-in crap that comes with a standard motherboard. I knocked down one of the stars only because the microphone wasn't as big of a leap in quality over my last pair as I was hoping it would be, but it was nowhere near a downgrade, and I'm otherwise very happy with them so far. Having read a lot of the 1-star comments before buying this set, I can say that you really shouldn't listen to them too much. A lot of the complaints aren't well-founded and I think they're gross exaggerations.

The lightweight structure provides a comfortable experience even when gaming for a log time
This headset exceeded all of my gaming expectations. The lightweight structure provides a comfortable experience even when gaming for a log time. The sport cloth on the ear cups is even better because it is washable. I can hear all the noises from the game I am playing, from the cannons firing to the players voices, when playing multiplayer. The structure is very strong and stable, but yet has the perfect amount of flexibility, for moving around. The ear cups can swivel 90 degrees, which makes it very comfortable to have the headset rest on your shoulders. The memory foam on the top is very nice, and soft, and the mix is also very flexible and deleives a clear crisp audio sound toward other players. There is also a mute/volume button attached to the chord, which makes it very easy to mute or control the volume of your headset. All in all, this headset is a very good deal, if you are looking for something with high quality, but a less expensive price.

It rocks in all aspects at this price range
The product is real good and it truly deserves a 5 star for its price range Pros : # Looks cool # The ear drivers covers the whole ear without any trouble # The microphone delivers good output voice which is good for gaming # The audio clarity is good and realistic (while gaming you can differentiate between sounds near u and coming far away from u) # The half-rotatable ear pieces are useful if you wanna place it flat on a table # Sufficiently long cable Cons: * The head cushion is not so soft and it feels weird on your top * It is not suitable for very long usage as after removing the headphones u'll definitely feel a little pain * The microphone voice can be heard through the drivers which interferes with the headphone output sound * The bass is not good as it suppresses the boom sounds and delivers only a damped vibration [...] Overall this headphones are good for gaming and for listening to music... Get it if you are looking for a good gaming headsets at this price range
