Paesanol Organic Unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive Oil is hands-down my favorite early season olive oil. This isn’t your mellow, everyday cooking oil (for that, I use Partanna Smooth & Fruity, also from the same trusted Asaro family farm). My entire family loves it, and we’ve made it a pantry staple for those times when quality and flavor really matter. If you appreciate strong, robust olive oils with a story behind them, this one’s hard to beat. TL;DR: My favorite early harvest EVOO. Unfiltered = slightly cloudy & greener in color. Big, bold, grassy, peppery flavor. Best for finishing, dipping, and flavor—not everyday frying. Comes from the legendary Asaro family farm in Sicily. This oil is definitely not the usual grocery store Olive oil! It adds a lovely spicy taste to cooked food. I bought it to drink as a nighttime medicinal elixir so taste is important. This is high-quality artisanal oil.

I bought this because I learned that it was made by Asaro Farms. I am so pleased with Partanna that I just had to try it. Being unfiltered, I was hoping that it would be stronger than Partanna, but that is not the case. While it seems an excellent oil, and feels good on the tongue — the bottle I have is somewhat milder than the Partanna I have. And yet the flavor seems identical, with the familiar after burn in the back of the throat. Also super buttery, thick, a bit salty, with more green color — I love it. I guess I am forever doomed, having to buy all Asaro products, so that I can make these subjective comparisons to satisfy my curiosity.

Excellent, nice taste, but very expensive

If you are looking for Unfiltered AND organic olive oil that is grown on the soil of Europe or America, this is the best one I have found so far. It is a fine olive oil. Too expensive of course. Wish it and all the other gourmet olive oils were about $10 cheaper. I keep it on the countertop and do a shot or 2 every day so I get to savor its' flavor without any food or other tastes. I do indeed like it better than most. It has a decent amount of olive particles which is where it gets it higher nutrient profile from. They do proclaim on the label pesticide free which is huge. If you are taking olive oil for your health, I recommend this one. If you can afford the expensive price tag.

Overall, this is a nice tasting olive oil. It always makes me feel better to know that something is organic and unfiltered for the added health benefit. However, I'm not enough of an expert to tell the difference in flavor between this product and the extra-virgin first cold pressed brand that I have been getting at half the price. It might be a little more delectable. Maybe I need to give it more time. However, I do have a friend who is an expert who loves this brand.

Best EVOO on the Market. Will use no other EVOO on my Salad or Pizza. Remember to Shake before using, so it mixes well and comes out Green. All Olives from Sicily. "Excellent"
