Love it!

This two-volume series from Taschen is a lovely addition to anyone's book collection. These books are full of beautiful anatomical illustrations, almost worthy of detaching from the book to hang on your walls!Very cool vintage medical illustrations, and comes in a tasteful two volume series with cardboard case. A lovely coffee table item, or decorative on a bookshelf or in a curiousity cabinet.High quality binding and printing, these books won't fall apart easily even with frequent perusing. Great for a gift as well!

Excellent purchase. The low price of the product offset the value of imports. Important to remind buyers that this work that it is not a human anatomy altas to study but a compilation of the figures present in nineteenth-century edition of this book, therefore it has more aesthetic than medical value, as well as other Taschen's books, which are geared towards art. Worth as a collector's item.

This is a classic piece of art/science. If you have physician friends, they'll spot it from a mile off and proceed to tell you just how amazingly accurate it is.

Large, beautifully encased 2 volume set of 1800's human anatomy (and surgery) standard atlases. These books have a presence! They are truly beautiful and you'll want to keep them on display, at least for yourself.I still can't believe the price. These books were a steal!

Gorgeous. I am a surgeon and this is a great coffee table book. This is not a book for education, but beautiful for those that appreciate the history of surgery. Very classic drawings and old instruments. The surgeons hands in the illustrations have rolled up sleeves.

Incredible book. So sad the person packing it didn't understand how to keep the box it came in whole. Hours of education and enjoyment. The illustrations are beautiful and easy to understand.

Nach dem Atlas von Bourgery & Jacob habe ich schon lange gesucht, nachdem ich einmal eines der Bilder im Internet gesehen habe. In dieser günstigen Neuauflage sind die historischen Zeichnungen aus dem 19. Jahrhundert in klassischer Weise geordnet.Der Gehalt dieses Atlas liegt hauptsächlich im anspruchsvollen Zeichenstil mit seiner aufwendigen Koloration. Zum Lernen anatomischer Strukturen sind die Abbildungen leider vollkommen ungeeignet, da einerseits keine Beschriftungen eingearbeitet sind, und andererseits die veralteten Perspektiven nicht um neue erweitert wurden. Das ist offensichtlich auch nicht der Fokus dieses Bandes. Für Medizinstudium und allgemeines Interesse ist z.B. der Atlas von Netter eher geeignet.
