For the cost, it is hard to beat this kit. I have upgraded the vice as that is by far the weakpoint of these tools, but everything else that comes in the kit is passable-good quality. I bought this kit as a newer fly angler curious about fly tying but didn't want to break the bank, I was able to learn enough about tying to learn that I liked it and invested in a higher quality vice. I highly recommend this kit as a great value starter kit to anybody interested in fly tying, knowing that over time you will want to upgrade tools. The first upgrades from this kit are a higher quality vice (particularly a true rotary) and better scissors.

the vice is fixed inside the box. I wish the base was removable. other than that, everything is great great quality and very clean.

I like this kit especially as a beginner but I wish the vise was better quality but the tools are good

For the price point it is okay. Becomes loose during use and continually needs to be screwed in. Portability is nice and can be a good starting kit if can’t afford better quality.

Bought for my brother havent seen it myself but he was able to tie his first fly with it and seemed happy.

Be aware that this is not a professional kit, but it does an amazing job for the price. It is also very compact for a full set, I can even throw some small bobins and a few feathers in there.Pros:-Very compact and lightweight,-You can tie flies pretty much anywhere, in the car, on the side of the river, etc..-You get a full tying set without braking the bank. Which is more than a plus for beginners.Cons:-It is tricky to fit hooks smaller than 18 in the vise, but not impossible.-Built for right handed in mind, but not unusable for left handed individuals.-The base stuck at the bottom of the box and it's not that heavy, it can shift while tying on a table.Know what you are buying and I am sure you will appreciate this set.Would recommend to a friend.
