Source Naturals Glycine, for Protein Systhesis and Energy Generation*, 227 Grams - 8 oz Powder

It's decent quality--about the consistency of fine granulated white sugar. So...dissolvability/mixability is about what one would expect of sugar (not great and needing to be stirred a couple of times if not chugged in one go). It is, as all glycine products are, very sweet in a not- terribly- attractive way. Putting it in some product to consume is preferable to taking it straight. Initially I felt that it drastically improved the quality of my sleep, which is why I was taking it. I find it doesn't help now, and I suspect that is because I am no longer short of it in my system. Taking it in larger doses once appropriate levels of it are in the body seems to cause a sort of transient nausea/stomach upset, and so I am not currently taking it on a regular basis. If I find myself having more difficulty sleeping, I may try it again. What has helped me most with sleep is taking hormone replacement in the form of progesterone (but I am a post-menopausal female with extremely low levels of the adrenal and gonadal hormones), and I anticipate that the small testosterone dose I have begun recently will also contribute to improved sleep, according to human research efforts in the current healthcare literature.

I read a research study that showed that Glycine helps people to fall back asleep at night. I would have to get up 3 or more times a night and then often take 45 min to 2 hours to fall asleep again. This definitely works! My smart watch shows "excellent sleep latency" (the time it take to fall asleep) as opposed to before taking Glycine. Prior to taking Glycine, results would always show "poor" sleep latency. There is 1 gram of glycine in 1/4 teaspoon. I take 3 grams per night because that was dosage in the research study. I stir it into an 8 to 10 oz glass of water. It has a slightly sweet take, not unpleasant at all. It has changed my life. I was so tired all the time because of poor sleep. This is a quality product. I love the sweet taste. The granules dissolve in liquid after a minute. This elicits a calmnes and helps me be ready for going to sleep. It's an easy way to give my body one of the components it needs to support healing and health in general.

I take a small dose of this daily every morning, but at the 3 gram doses for sleep, there can be side effects. This works for me for sleep for max two nights, but I ALWAYS oversleep on those mornings because my dreams are too interesting for me to wake up from. What happens tho, is I notice that I feel irritable that day. Things annoy me. I'm unfocused and less productive. Then, in the evening, on about the third night, I am restless and cannot get drowsy enough to sleep.... and then I get on a bad sleep schedule. This may not happen to you, but am writing this so you can be alert to these possible symptoms. I believe they are real because this has happened to me in exactly the same way about a year apart, where I tried it for a few nights and they played out the exact same way. I am going back to taking 10-12 mg of melatonin [I like source naturals dissolvable tablets (2-3), then spritz (1-2) of their liquid melatonin]. With just melatonin, I get drowsy, wake up naturally, quite early, get my coffee, and have a full and productive day. I will only take sleep dose glycine if I ever feel like I need a deep sleep, maybe even to get me back on track if I fall out of schedule, but no more than 2 nights every blue moon. In sum, glycine will work if you need to get a deep sleep every once in a while, but not **for me** as a regular sleep aid.

Good stuff. Helps with sleep and a bunch of other things in the body. Tastes a bit sweet so it's easy to take. 3-5g a day is all you need so this container goes a long way. I take it at night near bed time. High value supplement, recommended

I purchased this for use in a lip balm I was making. It worked great. It does not have any taste and the fine powder mixed right into the blend lending to a smooth consistency. The powder is easy to measure and easy to mix into the other ingredients.

This supplement is great! I have been using is for a couple of weeks and have noticed seller sleep at night, more energy during the day. It dissolves easily in water or any drink. I does not have any smell or taste. Easy to use
