It did come with the 2 necessary screwdrivers. You will need a set of tweezers or a very tiny needle nose. I followed the instructions from ifixit. There are no instructions included, so you will need to find those on the internet and follow very carefully! I am handy with this kind of stuff, but there are a lot of ribbon cables and I have old eyes so it connecting and disconnecting all the cables is challenging. It was a bit more complicated than the other reviews made it seem, and frankly I was a bit amazed that after I put everything back together, the gamepad work perfectly. I probably took me about 90 minutes to make the repair. The key is to move slowly, and be patient. If you mess up a single cable, you're going to be out of luck. The replacement screen is excellent, works just like the original. The challenge is to take everything apart and put it back together again.

Works as advertised, comes with touchscreen. First one was crunched on arrival, but Amazon was quick to issue a replacement. The screen looks fantastic and the touchpad works well. Please be aware that this repair is not for the faint of heart, you will need to disassemble most of your WiiU pad to get access to the screen. Be careful with the thin cables when opening the anti-static bag!! Read up on how to disassemble, take your time, and good luck!

Simple! Saved much time, $$ and aggravation - this was a first time for me and it took 20 minutes tops watching you tube videos - the device is working perfectly. I would suggest keeping the black frame piece from the old broken front, it is adhered with double sided taping and tears off. This set does NOT come with that frame piece (none of the sets will) and it does work without it but for “looks” it completes it.

Like the other reviewers said, follow a YouTube video. I had to watch a few because I had a newer system that had some different cable placement. Overall, I’m pleased with the end result. Over a year ago my Wii U screen had broken and I sent it in to Nintendo to get replaced. They charged me over a $100, but I am normally too scared to try and attempt to fix things on my own so I just payed the fee. When it broke the second time, I couldn’t afford to send it in again, so I decided to take my chances on buying this kit. The kit comes with a “new” LCD Screen, a new Digitizer, and two screwdrivers to help you disassemble your Wii U. I say “new” because the screen had a fingerprint and what appeared to be a few scuff marks on it. It also had a piece of plastic put over it to protect it I assume, but the plastic looked like it had been used several times already AND had pen marks on it! I was pretty peeved, but I used some camera lens solution and fiber cloth to pre-clean the screen and all marks were gone. My digitizer wasn’t broken, so I was able to place it on the new LCD screen, no problem. If you buy this kit, or one similar to it, I recommend three things: 1. Take note of where all the screws go. I accidentally put two in the wrong place and had to disassemble everything again. 2. Have a second person on standby while repairing your Wii U. There’s a lot of tiny wires and ribbons that get caught easily as you reassemble, so it helps to have one person holding them back and another screwing stuff back on. 3. Get some screen cleaner and a fiber cloth to clean your new LCD screen and/or digitizer. Although the product isn’t damaged, that doesn’t mean it’s not clean.

My younger brothers managed to somehow break the screen after a few years of use, rendering the whole system effectively useless. TL;DR: This is the part you need - tread carefully though, it's not an easy repair. The Wii U's gamepad is nearly impossible to find by itself, neither gamestop nor vintage stock had any available. I found one on craigslist and another at a thrift store, but both times the system with the essential controller was $150. I'm fairly handy and tech-savvy, but this is no walk in the park. You will absolutely want to follow along with youtube walkthroughs, and it still might not go perfectly. There are about a dozen ribbon cables and plugs that will need to be removed and re-attached...take your time (2-3 hours), one wrong move and you'll brick the whole unit. I had a successful repair, but stumbled twice: There's an especially fragile piece of plastic that sits underneath the screen to frame the display. It does not come as part of this (or any) kit and you'll need to scrape it off the old device with a utility knife. I managed to get it off in one piece, but while trying to wipe off residual glue- I snapped it, and had to superglue it back together. It's fine now and you can't notice - I did NOT glue it to the new screen. It sits snug enough inside a seat in the controller and the other components will keep it in place once it's reassembled. Also...and this was probably my biggest fumble...DO NOT REMOVE THREE protective films from the screens. There are ONLY TWO (with pull tabs) that are meant to come off. I got over-eager and pulled off one extra plastic film that is meant for the outermost part of the touchscreen. I had to order a set of screen protectors that worked perfectly as a replacement, but they were a pain to attach and added another two days to the repair time while I waited for the delivery. Reading some of the other reviews- I noticed some people had difficulty with the touch-screen losing functionality, but mine worked PERFECTLY after replacing the part. If you do everything correctly, this will repair your device.

Worked perfectly. Install wasn’t too bad, just tedious. You do need an additional small Philips heads screwdriver. Watched a YouTube video and ended up turning it off halfway through because it was pretty easy to figure out. You do lose the little black bezel on the original Nintendo piece. Not a big deal to me at all.

This is my second purchase for one of these screens from Amazon. This is my first purchase from this seller. I paid $20 for the first replacement screen 3 years ago, and this one was about $30. Still not a bad price for a replacement. The repair kit came with two small Philips screw drivers. But YOU will need a small set of needle nose pliers. They don't tell you this. The needle nose pliers are for removing the very tiny ribbons that are connected to the board that rests behind the screen on the control pad. My suggestion would be to YouTube a tutorial. There are several great ones out there. But follow the directions VERY closely. If you mess up a ribbon, then that pretty much wipes out your control pad. One other thing this screen doesn't have that your original screen will have. There is a black mat type insulation piece that you will have to remove from your original and put on this new screen. Pros: Does come with most of the tools you will need except the needle nose pliers. Otherwise its a great replacement screen. Cons: Does not come with instructions.

The ribbon cable on the digitizer does not fit the slot on the Wii U. I had to cut some plastic from the ribbon cable to get it to fit, and I expect it will stop working at any time. The screen part works fine, and the included screwdrivers were convenient.
