HOT Damn!
Full disclosure: I'm a huge fan of the YouTube show, First We Feast presents Hot Ones. I think it's a wildly entertaining interview show and it has reinvigorated my love of all things spicy! Moving on to the review, I had purchased this because I had noticed that everyone on the show had expressed how much they liked the flavor of this hot sauce, even with its painful bite. Now, for chili heads this is extremely tame, but I find myself in between the normal crowd and the insanity of chilidom. I adore the flavor of this sauce and have already gone through 1/4 the bottle in one day, because I carried it around with me and put it on everything. That being said, if you use it like normal hot sauce, you'll enjoy the complex flavor (albeit its main ingredient is malt vinegar so hot sauce fanatics will know the base flavor) while appreciating a medium burn. If you take a chug (which I do with Tabasco as if it were apple juice) then you will feel the creep of those habaneros and you'll start reaching for milk as if you were a death row convict reaching for the bible. A wonderful and flavorful hot sauce, I give it an A+

A beautiful envelope of warmth and fire
My husband and I are big fans of all things spicy. So when I saw this bad boy, I had to get it. It's only 13,000 SHU rating, but it has such a lovely warmth to it and the Cajun nuances definitely came through. I give it 5 stars on flavor and value for money. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star rating on versatility was because I don't know if it would go great on literally anything though. It was delicious on the chicken yes, but I don't know how well it would pair with other things. Though I can safely guess on all meats it would do the trick exceptionally well.

Tabasco sauce kicked up a notch or two.
Like many other reviewers, I saw this on First We Feast and decided to give it a try. It’s hotter than Tabasco but it isn’t so hot as to make it only for serious pepper heads. It has a nice flavor, which kind of reminds me of barbecue sauce. I just finished drizzling some over the cold pizza from last night and it was great. Had it on scrambled eggs as well. I’d say if you like Tabasco but are looking for something a bit hotter, this is your new sauce.

Pain Is Indeed Good
This has topped my list as my favorite hot sauce of all time. I'm a big sucker for southern BBQ sauces, and Louisiana style hot sauce is near the top already. This hot sauce goes above and beyond though. There's a sweetness that blasts you right away. You can smell it even before you open the lid. I could smell the spice too, but I was really caught off guard by just how pleasantly sweet it was. And it's blended incredibly with the spiciness. The taste lingers for a little time but never did experience "pain". The sauce texture is fantastic for eggs and especially wings. It's a thicker consistency than you're used to in Louisiana sauce, but it works so well. It is by far and away my favorite sauce now.

Hotter than usual, but not stupidly so, and with a nice sweet smokey flavor.
A bit warmer than the usual grocery store hot sauces- but not stupid hot. It has a pleasant sort of sweet paprika smokey flavor to it, while still warming your mouth up. Very good on chicken and chicken wings, although its not like the traditional "buffalo wings" style flavor. I also tried it as a replacement for catsup and mustard on a burger - it works there, but not as well as on chicken. It does go nicely on pork ribs as well. I found the "heat" part just above my usual threshold, but it has a pretty short "heat halflife" going down, and I didn't notice any problems on the other side, if you know what I mean. I enjoyed it as a change in scenery, but I don't think I'd replace my usual hot sauces - I prefer a more vinegary flavor. Still, its worth a try just because of the pleasant flavor, and I might order it again for a special picnic or something.

My go-to-daily sauce
I’m a huge fan of the “Pain is Good” line of sauces, but the #218 Louisiana is one of my hands down favs of my hot sauce cabinet. It has a great mellow heat that beats Tabasco, but doesn’t smelt your taste buds like Chocolate Plague. Add to that it has actual flavor (reminds me a bit of Chipotle Tabasco) and I put this on more dishes than not. Just placed my 5th or 6th order & both glass bottles arrived intact & undamaged (I probably just jinxed myself for future orders).

YES!!!!
I actualy ordered this one by mistake. I watch the show "Hot Ones" and their hot sauce was the one I was looking for but for some reason that picture was screaming "BUY ME PLEASE!". He was in pain so I did it and I'm very happy that I did. This is by far the best hot sauce I've ever tasted and Ive had too many to count. It will kick the s@#! out of you for a moment but the flavor makes it all worth while I promise. No really..... I PROMISE. Im still gonna get Hot Ones just to compare since they brag so much about it.

Not impressed
Its hot, and its barbecue-y, so if those are your only two qualifiers for buying this hot sauce you don't need to read any further because this will probably suit you just fine. I, like many others, first saw this hot sauce on Hot Ones and was intrigued to try it because I'm a fan of Louisiana hot sauce. While I was impressed with another hot sauce I bought after seeing Hot Ones and being intrigued to try it, I can't say the same about this one. Unfortunately, the flavor just wasn't there with this hot sauce. Its palatable, its acceptable, but its just not great. The heat is the most intriguing thing in the mix here, because if it weren't so spicy this hot sauce would be very plain. If your doing long roasts of ribs on the grill or in the oven, this sauce is perfectly fine, but I think there are better alternatives out there. In my local area there is a restaurant that provides its sauce to stores and while its not as hot as Pain is Good, I find the taste of their Louisiana style much preferable. Rather than buying this sauce to add heat to a dish, I'd prefer to purchase a better tasting hot sauce and add extra peppers myself or use it in combination with another hotter sauce.

One of the best Low/Medium heat hot sauces!
I ordered a bunch of hot sauces, from Siracha to tabasco to Tapatio to a whole variety of Louisiana style hot sauces. This sauce here takes the cake for every day use. It's labeled as medium heat and around 4000 scolvile so it's pretty weak, however I found it actually is substantially more hotter on taste than the other sauces around this range, as far as heat goes I can easily compare it to Habanero Tabasco sauce (which is about 8000 scolvile) if not a bit more, at least to me it's hotter than labeled (not a bad thing). However, the taste is what really makes this sauce - it's delicious. The consisentency is great, slightly thick, non of this watery/runny sauces and no vinegar taste (if you're not a fan) . This and Tapatio for me stole the show for low level heat sauces for every day use.

I liebe diese Soße (Louisiana)

Favourite hot sauce, shame about the price!
No idea what the poor reviews are about, this sauce is delicious, fruity, smoky and just the right level of heat. Polished the bottle off in a few days it was that good. The only issue is the price which makes this an expensive sauce to use on a regular basis.
