In an effort to be more helpful now I've had this AcePC for a while, I figured I'd update on some other things.AcePC have a new support forum, which has lots of downloads and updates for their system. I recently downloaded the 1903 Windows 10 image from their site and it works pretty good. It doesn't throttle as much any-more using that image. They have said that 1909 has some issues and to avoid upgrading to that for now. If you have the other AcePC (the one with only 32GB eMMC) then it's best to avoid that version since it's 28GB, not leaving that much space for temporary files for the operating system.I am however having further issues with my AcePC. Windows will crash every few hours, and the system will become non-responsive and I'll have to cold boot. My TV's HDMI will also backfeed a bit of power which can cause issues since it will not fully clear the memory.I'm not sure if this is because I use VeraCrypt system drive configuration or not. Windows didn't crash nearly as much before I started using full disk encryption. There is a BIOS update available, however the one I tried didn't work since I must have a different version to the one it expected. I am waiting for their support forum techs can give me some more advice on this.There is also apparently a BIOS version that you can put on there, that will enable the system to power on as soon as power is plugged in (since this Power on AC loss option is not visible in the BIOS setup screen). My theory is I can use a smart plug with she who must not be named (Alexa) to disconnect the power, then turn it back on and the system will come online when power is reconnected.The reason I need this is I am disabled and often bed bound, and if the system crashes, I can't get up to force a power off, wait, then power it back on sometimes. I'll let you know what information I get from their support people.I do really like the size of this mini PC and the fact it has a 2.5" SATA slot for adding a new drive in there for extra space. Another thing I have noticed but haven't quite figured out yet, sometimes that drive will just disappear on some boots. This drive though, I don't think you can boot from it. It appears to be connected via USB3 internally, so it doesn't appear as a boot device as far as I can tell. Which if you could boot from it, that'd be awesome since you can put a large decent SSD in there, which would be faster than the eMMC storage.All in all, I think this is a nice design and it works pretty well. There's some improvements to be made for their next revision, and I think maybe adding some optional mounts for fans for thermal dissipation would be good. Sometimes this thing runs a bit warm (72C in the processor die) which is okay and is in spec for the Z8350 processor.My original review follows:If you are having slowdown issues with this AcePC Mini PC, I found that it was throttling the processor to 33% at 0.48GHzI figured out it was because the power options were set to Balanced. However, the "High Performance" option was unavailable. This meant that the device was very slow and could not stream 1080p youtube correctly.The fix that worked for me, was to change the following registry key by launching regedit and navigating to the following key.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\PowerThen to change CsEnabled from 1 to 0 and reboot.Now all the missing power options are available again, so you can go to Control Panel and select power, and choose High Performance, and the computer will not throttle the processor anymore.I will update my review after I have had a few days experience using this product, but felt the need to write this short review in case anyone else was having difficulties. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good *by K***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 November 2018* Very efficient, and the power adaptor that comes with it is rated 5v 4a (20W max) which is a nice hefty power adaptor itself by the way. It's got one usb 3 port and then 3 usb 2 ports, a Realtek rtl8152 nic (100mbs over usb). 64GB Samsung eMMC storage (so not SSD do bare that in mind). It has a single 4GB SKhynix DDR3 (so not dual channel) running at 1066Mhz, and the CPU has 4 cores, 4 threads (no hyper threading) with a max speed of 2400mhz according to dmidecode. by the way there's an expansion slot underneath the chassis if you'd like to add in a 2.5" drive, and here's the inside of it ... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works quite well *by B***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 April 2019* Considering its size, it's does quite well. Don't expect a 'games' machine. Its reasonably fast but not jet propelled. I use it as a 2nd computer for mondane things connected with my flight sim setup (Moving map etc). It adequate for that. It plays Youtube videos fine.I tried putting in a 125Gb SSD but couldn't get it to be initialised by Win 10. It could see it but that is as far as it got (now installed and running on the desktop). I installed a 64Gb micro SD card in the slot and that works ok for the extra storage. Given the number of W10 updates, I see there is a 32Gb version but I think anything less than 64Gb will return not enough memory when doing updates i.e. mine is now over 32Gb with the latest update. The latest W10 uodate seems to have cured a problem with the WiFi not always connecting on boot.
