Amazing stairs!
Easy to put together. You will need a rubber mallet for assembly. The ladder is large and we needed 3 people to install into the pool. (2 lowering ,1 to keep stairs down in the water) We did not fill sides with sand but water when we put it in the pool and added 3 -3 inch by 22 inch weights filled with cement attaching with zip ties to the bottom to keep it from floating up. After anchoring to deck the ladder remains in place. My husband is a big guy 300 lbs and they hold his weight. The handles are sturdy enough to hold on to, and great safety for entering and exiting the pool. These step are a huge upgrade and wish we had boughten them years ago.

Best Damn Pool Steps. EVER!!!
When they say use soap to make assembly easier, theyโre not kidding (that new spray-on Dawn is the bomb)!! Other than that (and a few judicious taps with a rubber mallet), assembly is a breeze. When putting them in the pool, we noticed that they were designed for the pool deck being higher than the pool edge. Not the case with our setup. So, I shimmed them up with 4x4s. Problem solved. But โ the important thing โ they are very stable in the water, and with two rails (as opposed to the one with our old steps) my wife has no trouble getting in and out of the pool on her own. A great value all around, that will serve our family well for years. Downside: Now Iโm kicking myself for not doing this years ago!! Great job, guys/gals!!!!

4.75 stars! Great product!
Product was well designed and easy to put together (my 15 year old put it together). Instructions were well written and easy to follow. There are 4 pads that act as feet to keep from scratching the liner in the bottom - these were a little tricky to install. I even attached (4) 6"x6"xยฝ" pads (cut from an old yoga mat) with industrial Velcro tape to give it a softer cushion on the liner (I've repaired several holes in my longer and know how easy they are to cut). I used more sand than the instructions called for simply because our old steps had a tendency to move... But you would probably be safe following the directions. Play sand works well just make sure it's dry so it will flow easily. I used a medium sized funnel with no issues as the holes were large enough for a good sized funnel. However, the caps seemed a little inadequate but once the steps are installed, they stay in place fine. The instructions were a little unclear on whether the steps were actually screwed down with the supplied stainless steel screws (good quality screws). I ended up only screwing the top step at the 4 apparent locations. Each step had 4 indentations that appeared to be for screw points but with the quality and fit of the interlocking pieces, I did not see any benefit nor extra strength in doing so. I built our deck to be even with the highest point of the pool sides, so attaching the steps to the deck was simple. If your pool sides are higher than your deck, you will need to add a block or step (even with or slightly above the pool sides) to attach the two arms. These are also attached with the supplied stainless steel screws. I used 4 or 5 in each arm to fasten to the desk floor. After a couple months of use, I'm extremely pleased with their performance, look, and durability.

Safely get in and out of pool
Way safer than a rung ladder. Nice and wide. Will have to weight it down. Perfect!

Great wide steps
Great set of stairs, mine came with a damaged arm but once I told them about it the piece showed up in the mail 2 days later. Wide and sturdy my husbands mom was able to get in the pool this summer and that was great to see, easy to put together and very functionable. I recommend.

Why did I wait? Itโs better than I thought Iโd be!
I bought this for my dog, but tbh, I was eyeing it because it looks nicer than the stupid ladder. When I opened it, I took a picture on how to put it back in the box because it looks like lil tykes crap, but I loosely assembled it just to see. So it kinda grew on me, then I committed, put it together, added sand and threw it in the poolโฆ for the dogโฆ Soโฆ I LOVE THESE STAIRS! And so does the olโ dog. Everything I didnโt like is submerged. Except the attachments for the deck, which I plan to paint. Krylon has successfully worked for under water plastics for me, so it should be absolutely fine. The railing looks way classier than the hoop ladder, the steps feel more comfortable for all. My agp is 16โx28โ and I donโt feel like it takes up any room at all, just assemble the steps differently, (concave). I donโt know why I waited? Havenโt decided if Iโm gonna do the add on, because I like the way it looks better, but tbh, these are wider than I expected and working fine. The addition would be for my snobby ass wanting โwedding cake stepsโ. As for those concerned about adding the sand and not being able to handle it, I had no issues alone. Itโs 40lbs of sand and once you throw it in the water itโs easily adjustable I just slid it in, it doesnโt immediately sink. $3 of play sand from HD. Also, from previous posts, if anchored properly, the handrails feel legit. May change after a bit of TX heat, so this could change, Iโll keep you posted, but I also could add screws. Side note, I ordered โgreyโ because it was cheaper and was prepared to paint them, but was sent the 2-tone โwarm greyโ, which I like way better and works with everything I have going on. I assume maybe theyโre only manufacturing this now because itโs awesome and they only should. So I didnโt alert them about the mistake and will enjoy them, as is. I think these look great and if youโre a dog owner, I think these are brilliant. I have a fat, 10 yr old, dog, who has hip issues and needs to lose weight, in TX! This the way. The top step is above the water so she can see her way out without panic as swimming is new to her, but you can teach old dog new tricks and I am thankful for these stairs to help her and me in our adventures. I also really enjoyed the enclosed history of this Company. Even if you donโt purchase these awesome stairs, look up the Great American who started this company and his family continuing it. Itโs also fun to learn how businesses start and where they end up. Happy Memorial Day, Ray Confer and family! Thank you for making ours more comfortable. We will remember you everyday!

Safe, solid and secure wide stairs. Perfect!
I was nervous when I read reviews that said that even with sand in the frame the ladder still floated up, and was too heavy to lift out of the pool in the off-season. I read other reviews that talked about filling a bucket with sand and attaching it to the ladder, which would make it easier to lift out when closing the pool. Taking those reviews into consideration, I went ahead and purchased these stairs. I wanted wider stairs than the ladder that came with my 52" metal framed pool. The original ladder was not stable enough for me to feel secure. I also wanted something wider so it would be easier (and safer!) to get my grandchildren /babies in and out of the pool. And, as I'm getting older, I wanted something that was easier on my knees. Putting the stairs together was pretty easy. The box was a bit heavy for just me to move around. I ended up unpacking it in the back of my truck, and moving it piece by piece to the pool area. Definitely need to use a rubber mallet to get some of the pieces to lock in place. Instructions were easy to follow. Getting it into the pool was a trick to do by myself, but since I was going for something sturdy and safe, couldn't complain about the weight! These stairs are absolutely amazing. They are about 3 times wider than the original ladder (check out the pictures with yellow level for scale), and the handles provide safe access, even carrying a child. I decided to fill the frame with water instead of sand, so I just put the stairs in the pool, and laid on the stairs like a pool float. I moved it to different positions until the bubbles quit, until I felt I had filled it as much as possible. There was very, very minimal floating of the stairs after this, and I hadn't even attached it to the deck at this point. I did decide to put a bucket of sand under the stairs, attached with a bungee for now, just to take out that small amount of float. I was worried about it bouncing up and down when I took the first step in, and didn't want to rip my liner. I am so happy I bought these stairs, and although I didn't get much use out of them before closing the pool, I enjoyed every safe moment of easy entry into my pool. I have not removed it for the winter (Texas) and don't know if I'd ever get the water out so I could lift it out anyway. I plan to keep cleaning and filtering over the winter to avoid any possible algae buildup that I read about. Will see how that plays out this winter.

Don't Hesitate to Order
I was apprehensive to order these pool stairs since I've never seen them in person but our old used and wobbly pool stairs were in desperate need of an upgrade. These were seriously so easy to install (with two people), and as others mentioned needed more sand than the recommended amount in order for them to stop floating but they are seriously amazing! They are so sturdy, nice and wide, the treads are so comfortable, and the handrails are really robust. These are a serious improvement and we are so happy. Wish we didn't wait so long honestly. Delivery took longer than we wanted and we worried they weren't showing up but then arrived. Only complaint is that we didn't get the dark grey colour we hoped we were. Seller, update your photo.

Great, sturdy, well made!
These are the absolute best purchase, we have had them for 2 seasons and as long as you store them in a shed during winter, I believe they will last many years. Straight forward assembly.

Handles are not sturdy. It is the right height for my pool.
The size & lightness of the material. However the handles are not very stable.
