Great book, lots of information

A very impressive book.
Because I frequently train or assist others with dog training, I'm always on the hunt for quality books that I can recommend to others. This book has a very sound "about" chapter where it covers the core personalities of the breed. I found the survey results of thousands of Chihuahua owners on many topics such as barking, heart issues, shyness, and much more to be particularly fascinating and helpful for owners. This is a very large book and covers just about everything pertaining to a Chihuahua. If you can think of an issue, it's in this book. I will be recommending this book to all of the people I know with this breed of dog.

GREAT INFO OVERALL: TO BE UPDATED...WOW! Next day?!!
Great info! I have 4 CHIs; a Dad and 3 of his kids from the same litter! All Purebred/AKC Champs/retired, now enjoying their empty nests by filling mine! Bought this book MAINLY for nutritional guidance as the internet "experts" seem to be all OVER the place. I'm reading the book now and plan to update it. The main thing I'm concerned about thus far, even though the guidance is very specific, FINALLY!... is that there are links directly to AMAZON for their recommended products. I KNOW it takes time/money to keep books/websites up and current but... I'm looking closely for any untoward bias and data that shows they profit directly from these "recommendations," albeit hard to believe that they do not. I mean, DIRECT links to AMAZON are convenient but they also $cream "regard with $uspicion and upraised brow," especially when it comes to your beloved CHIs! Sorry to sound jaded but on AMAZON lately, if I give less than 5 stars for a product, I'm immediately contacted by a strangely-worded email asking me to reconsider my review for a $20-50 gift card!!!!? I'm trusting the "stars" less and less, therefore, and HOPING to find guidance through this book? NOBODY IS PERFECT: The breeder/show person of these AKC Champions NEVER vaccinated them [Is that even POSSIBLE for an AKC event?!!] and high recommended Royal Canin Adult Chihuahua, whose PRIMARY ingredient is... CORN?!? Followed immediately by "chicken by-product MEAL!" Not even horrid by-product goodness...but a MEAL made from it?!!! Just saying... one MUST take responsibility for their children! FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS? More like strikes #1-3! Merrick Product: Contains "dehydrated alfalfa meal"? If THAT isn't a cheap filler...well, just GOOGLE it! FAIL! Next? Halo: No information ANYWHERE on %'s of anything. Just "fluff" and "filler" about feel-good products designed by a marketing agency. Oh wait... WAS one notable ingredient I found..."SOY PROTEIN?!" FAIL! next? Wellness Core: Products by content %, #2: Chicken Meal, #3 Turkey Meal. Fai...oh wait! It contains "Oatmeal" AND "Oats"...undoubtedly made delicious by the "natural chicken flavoring." FAIL! Sigh. Do your own research and consider their guidelines. However, based on everything I've just learned, I don't know if I TRUST their saying that my CHIs need requirements of Protein: 34-36%, Fat: @15% and Fiber of 4-7%. Everything I need to know about my rescue Chihuahua!
Enjoyable reading! I've owned other breeds & decided I needed a smaller breed than previous pets. I rescued a Chihuahua "mix" that has proven to negate most of my previous dog training experience. I was desperate & needed guidance! This book filled me in on my baby's odd behaviors & guided me in training her and we're almost there!! I've fallen in love with her and she with me - a match made in Heaven! Thank you for your most helpful advice!

Best comprehensive book on Chihuahuas
This book has been very helpful for me with my first Chihuahua puppy. Not only does it have good information on care of the puppy but continues with information on everything through adulthood. It also makes references to products and suggests signing up for a web site that offers up to date information on the Chi. Great, large, softcover easy to read book.

Everything about Chihuahua's is important to know.
This is a well written book, clearly and easily understood. The attention paid to even the smallest detail makes it less likely to for the parent of the Chi to make mistakes. Over our 56 year marriage we've always had beloved pets. Every one of them special, well taken care of and well loved. We adopted our little Chi from our local shelter 8 months ago, changed her name to Callie, and quickly realized that having a very small dog is such a different experience from having a mid size or large dog. You will understand what I'm saying ,in a very short time ,if you ever adopt such a tiny creature. We are in our early 70s , no longer any children living at home, and Callie is our BABY. What a godsend at this time in our lives.

The Chihuahua bible
I bought this book as I have brought a chihuahua puppy. The information and advice in this book has been very helpful. It covers absolutely everything. I have found it a must have for everything you need to know about chihuahua and training toy breeds. Would definitely recommend this book.

If you have a Chihuahua you need this book
This book is very informative. It tells you EVERYTHING you need to know. I wish I had it years ago when I had my 1st Chi. It gives you links to the information they're referring to. It touches on EVERY single thing that has to do with Chi's. Honestly the best information you will need
