Very functional, but measure your counter space before ordering.
Our smaller Black & Decker toaster oven usually burned everything except plain toast and was too small for 4 pieces of bread or buns. Baking anything always ended up burnt on the top & bottom due to the limited space inside the oven. This larger convection model works great toasting anything (roomy enough for 6 buns) and bakes by moving the air around, so no burnt tops. Cooks using up to a 9x13 pan (extra oven for big dinners). Frozen biscuits, fries, chicken nuggets & pizza come out great. Caution: due to the convection feature I have to keep the baking temp much lower than usual. Grands frozen biscuits @ 300 degrees are done in 20 minutes. The crumb tray is really easy to remove & clean and keeps the bottom neat (no burned on food smoking or stuck to the bottom that you can't clean). I keep a piece of cheap oven liner on the tray and everything wipes right off. It's used every day & the inside of this oven looks as good as the day we got it. The outside does get hot, but I set dinner plates on top to warm them while waiting for the food. The door does not have a hinge to keep it from hitting the counter when you open it, only con I can think of.

Great Value! Excellent oven
UPDATE: I previously gave this 2 starts because I thought the oven had stopped cooking properly. Turns out to be a user error. Oven works great! Tip: make sure you put the crumb tray in the right place. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this on October 19, 2024. I needed very specific measurements because I am working out of a tiny kitchen. The best part of this toaster oven by far, is the fact that it can hold a full size casserole dish no problem. It looks nice. It's been easy to keep clean. I have really enjoyed it. When I read reviews I noticed that lots of people complained that it is loud when in use. This is true, but I placed a shelf mat under it and the problem was solved. The other complaint was that the knobs are difficult to turn. They are, but it is definitely not a deal breaker for me. Overall this is a great toaster oven for the price.

Good, with some caveats.
I like that its extra wide so we can fit bigger casserole dishes, or more bread. Heats fast and toasts food up quick. Only complaints so far are the knobs are a little stiff and can be slightly hard to turn for some people. Also, the loud bell/ringing noise when the timer goes off is annoying. I've never understood who that feature is for. Who wants a loud beeping/ringing bell noise when their food is done? Especially if you have to heat something up later at night when people are sleeping. Stop putting loud beeping/bells in toaster ovens and microwaves! Minus one star for the loud bell and the knobs being hard to turn.

Outstanding 8-slice convection oven, a true kitchen workhorse
This BLACK+DECKER 8-slice convection toaster oven has been a workhorse in our kitchen and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The extra-wide interior easily fits a 9x13 baking pan, a whole 12-inch pizza, or eight slices of toast simultaneously, which is a game changer for family meals. The convection fan circulates heat evenly, resulting in consistently well-browned baked goods, perfectly crisped fries, and golden-brown roasted vegetables without hot spots. We use it to bake, broil, and toast almost daily and it has maintained consistent performance. The included bake pan, broil rack, and toasting rack are all solid quality and well-sized. The temperature settings are accurate and the timer with auto-shutoff provides peace of mind. The stainless steel finish looks great on the countertop and cleans up nicely. It heats up noticeably faster than our full-size oven and saves energy for smaller meals. An outstanding appliance at a very competitive price point.

It's true what everyone say's about this oven--spacious--good for baking
I've considered and researched getting a toaster oven for sometime. My oven hasn't been working well and it may be up in the air as to finding parts or replacing it with all the trade uncertainty at this time. I looked at many ovens, whew--there are so many! I liked the way the French door ovens looked, but decided it wouldn't be best for baking and keeping an even temp. The height was an important factor, as I want it for baking. I finally decided on this Black & Decker oven--it had the most height(11.5")--and I think it could even be another inch or two taller. Other than for cookies I've been baking on the lowest rack. This has two rack levels, and its very spacious--I fit a 10 x 15 bake sheet in it easily. The whole oven is not very heavy, but does look well made. I found the turn the oven on timer a little awkward, I'll have to adjust to that. The cord was also a little short, so had to plug into a surge cord and thats been working OK. The oven did loud vibrate sometimes( my rattling pans?) not sure--but the oven has been working great. I've been using this oven often for baking homemade pizza, apple empanadas, rustic olive rolls, etc. I haven't tried yet many of the other possibilities, like lasagna, enchiladas, pies, etc,--I haven't even baked a cookie yet. So far this has been exceeding my expectations. I will need to learn adjust the temp settings. It does seem to follow recipe guidelines as far as temperature goes. I wish it had 5 min increments on the timer setting. You have to turn the timer on to turn the oven on--I still find that odd. Finally I wish the directions were better and maybe some recipes. I'm mostly pleased with this oven, and can see why its so popular. Other than some minor oddities, its spacious, fairly easy to use, and its very cost effective--Whats not to like?

BUYER BEWARE
I've updated this several times so dates have been included to make it less confusing. Less than a year after purchase, the fan broke which made it nothing more than a giant toaster oven because it would burn anything when using the convection oven settings. I don't have an oven so this was NOT okay. I contacted the manufacturer since it broke in less than a year despite it being maintained properly. This was right BEFORE Christmas on 12/23 They wanted pictures. Said I would get a replacement within a week. Okay. Took the pictures and emailed. No response, waited almost the whole week. Called again on 12/29 Now they want a picture with the cord cut. Well the toaster oven part was the ONLY thing I had to cook with besides the stove or microwave, but they said it's the only way to get a replacement, and I would get it within a week of sending THAT picture. Screw it. Okay. Cut the cord. Sent the picture. No response. Called back on 01/02 and they said it hasn't been processed and I'll have to wait longer. Okay... Holidays affect timing of things. I get that. I was patient. Called back again on 01/06 and I was told a replacement had been ordered on 01/04 (which is weird bc that's a Sunday but whatever... Idk how they do their orders) but no tracking information had populated, so they "escalated" my case, and I'd get tracking information within 24-48 business hours. They also said I'd likely get the replacement before I got the tracking information. Okay. On 01/07 I was emailed and told a replacement had JUST been ordered and tracking information wasn't available yet but would be sent soon. Okay. Maybe the agent had just been mistaken and it hadn't actually been ordered on 01/04 and that's why they couldn't find the tracking information. Again, I was patient. Today is 01/09 and I called again because I know holidays can affect things like that, but I'm already not trusting ANYTHING they say since I'd been told it was already ordered but that clearly wasn't true, and it has been WAY over the one week I was originally told... but I figured surely by now they MUST have tracking information. When I called today (01/09) I VERY politely asked for a supervisor because I was AGAIN told there was no tracking information. The supervisor answered the phone laughing and gave a canned response about "sorry for your experience" and then THIS time I was told there is no set expectation for when to receive tracking information as that is handled by another department. Since I clearly don't trust them at this point, I hung up and called back to get a different supervisor who wouldn't act so unprofessional. Keep in mind, I work customer service. I'm not yelling. I'm not rude. I'm firm, but polite. This is pissing me off though, so it takes every single customer service bone in my body not to go off on the SUPERVISOR who was laughing and talking to other people in the background while I'm on the phone... Which is why I called back to speak to someone else. I'm not about that life of treating customer service people like dogs, but I'm not going to accept that type of treatment. The next supervisor said the same thing about how there's no set time to get tracking (but much more professionally) and I expressed how I was lied to since I had been told so many different things by so many different people. While the supervisor gave a canned response ("I'm so sorry this has been such a negative experience, I can understand why that's frustrating") she never said they would go back and listen to the calls and make sure those agents were giving correct information. She just made comments about how nobody was trying to be deceptive without ever verifying what was actually said by those agents. How would they know the agents weren't trying to be deceptive when they never listened to the calls? It was a very disingenuous attitude all-around.... Like they thought I didn't know what I was talking about and just assumed I was being dramatic despite how patient and polite I've been. I still have no tracking information. I will update if this is ever resolved, but I will NEVER buy from Black & Decker again because of this experience. Save your money. I know it's tempting because of the size but just don't. It breaks fast and there's is ZERO product support.

Great oven, horrible instructions, HUGE price increase just before Christmas!
I've had this toaster oven for about a month now and, after doing some scavenger hunting on the internet for instructions and a little trial and error, I think it's going to pretty much replace my regular gas oven. Let me save you a little frustration as to the lack of instructions, especially pertaining to the convection feature. If you select the "Bake" setting, the convection feature is activated. There is no way to turn it off, which is actually fine. What I have discovered is, if I'm baking baked goods (cookies, muffins, etc) you need to decrease the baking temperature by 25 degrees or reduce the baking time by about 25 %, or both. If you reduce the temp, start checking for doneness about 3/4 of the way through the baking process. If I'm baking a casserole, which contains more liquids or the like('cream of' soups, eggs, cheese, etc) I use the recommended temperature in the recipe and let it cook the full amount of time. I made a tuna noodle casserole last week and it was perfect using the recipe exactly as written. I haven't used the broil feature for meat yet, so I don't have a point of reference for that feature and, as I'm single and just make toast in a regular 2 slice toaster, I also don't have a review for the toast feature (I don't need 8 slices of toast at once.) What I LOVE about this oven is being able to use my regular pans! I had a smaller toaster oven before and got frustrated by having to buy special pans for it. I ended up buying a lot of disposable aluminum pans. With this oven, I can use all of my regular pans (I have several Pampered Chef ones that I wasn't able to use in the old toaster oven) except for a couple of my larger baking stones. So far, everything has baked so much more evenly than in my full sized gas oven that I'm absolutely thrilled. So, as far as the way the oven functions and the results I've had when cooking with it, I am very satisfied with this oven. The only negative comment that I have about it is that the instructions are almost non-existent. An individual shouldn't have to do 2 hours of research online and watch youtube videos to learn how to properly use this product. They really need to include an actual instruction manual, with a few recipes included for each feature of the oven, instead of a big sheet of pitiful basic instructions that are written in about a dozen different languages. I think that most of the negative reviews that I've seen could have been avoided if this were the case. Does the outside of the oven get hot? Yes, it's a toaster oven, not an insulated range, so move it away from the wall. The crumb tray slides into the slots underneath the OUTSIDE of the oven, it doesn't go inside and I believe this is the reason that so many people are saying it never gets hot enough. The convection feature comes on and stays on when baking, there's no way to shut it off. All of this could should be explained in an actual instruction manual. My last comment pertains to the price. At $67 in November, this oven was a great value. Less than a month later, it's $96!!!! Had it been this price originally, I'm not sure I would have purchased it. So, my review is A for the the oven itself, D for the lack of instructions and the $30 price hike just before Christmas.

Fast warm-up
Love this! A larger footprint on the counter, but so quick and easy to use. I bought this as a replacement for the identical one I'd had for several years that quit toasting. I use it nearly every day to toast, bake, etc. It holds a medium sized casserole dish. Also a midsized cookie sheet. I store a small flat cookie sheet under it for quick warm ups (like toasting walnuts or warming a single piece of pizza.) It heats up much faster than the more expensive brands.

Tostador y broiler funcionales.

Underrated Transformer . 500w instead of 1500w. Absolute cheat
This product works on a 110V AC source . Amazon is supplying it with a local step down transformer from 230V to 110V to make it suitable for Indian conditions . The transformer supplied is not working . I made a complaint to Black & Decker who sent a technician and he rectified the transformer on his second visit . Within the first use , the main MCB tripped indicating overload or short circuit in the transformer . Black & Decker refuses to service / replace the transformer saying it’s not their product . It’s just been a month since delivery and issue isn’t getting resolved . Will Amazon come forward to sort out the mess ?

Great size!
We love the large interior size! The exterior size is almost the same as our old regular-sized toaster oven. We use it daily to bake, make toast and reheat food. Being able to use regular-sized cookware like a 9x12 pan is a game changer! Great product! Highly recommended.

B & D 8-Slice Extra Wide Oven,
Strong heater, huge and wide, practical, accurate thermostat. Only drawback is ... the electric cable could be 3x to 6x longer. It is our 3rd B & D 8 slices oven we bought since 8 or 10 years and all of them have the same drawback; short electric cable. The company never corrected this issue. But for the rest, with such a huge oven, we almost never use the conventionnal oven since a lot of thing fit in it. A bit expensive (on Canadian side).
