Worked for suspected Cushing's disease in dog
Last year our 12 year old Sheltie-Chow mix did not re-grow much of his coat several months after his summer trip to the dog groomer. Never had this issue before. He was drinking a lot more water and his skin had developed black spots visible through his thinning coat. Took him to the vet for his annual dental cleaning and he had a reaction to the anesthetic-no problems ever before. We knew something was wrong so he was tested for diabetes and thyroid, that wasn't it. The vet mentioned Cushing's disease which was going to involve an 8 hour stay at the vet's for testing and of course, more money. I started searching the internet to find out if anything could be done without any more expensive and possibly dangerous tests and drugs. I found out about the flax lignan and melatonin combination. These products were reasonably priced and not a lot of side effects either. We started him on the weight appropriate doses of the HMR Lignans and melatonin the next week. About a month later, we noticed his fur had started growing back, he was drinking less water, and as a bonus-being calmer during thunderstorms.. It's been a year now and just like the old days we have dog fur everywhere on him (and all over the house )again! No more trips to the groomer or dental cleanings for our 13 year "old man", but he's alive and doing well. This is definitely worth a try if you can not afford expensive vet bills for Cushing's treatment... *update 3/4/18 Our dog passed away yesterday. He lived to be 15 years old which is about 2-1/2 years longer than we thought he would. I believe the lignan and melatonin combination along with some cardio support vitamins gave us the extra time. He was chasing cats and squirrels right up until the day he died. His coat was just as full and beautiful as it was when he was 2 or 3. He had slowed down a bit in his last few months due to arthritis, but I have no regrets about giving him this product.

MIRACLE-GAME CHANGER. IT WORKS!
I don’t usually write extensive reviews but as a dog owner and love for animals I felt compelled to share my review. Our sweet Macie was diagnosed with Cushings. Her hair was falling out, wouldn’t grow back from where she was shaved from a removal of fatty tissue procedure. She was drinking incessantly, getting extremely thin and very lathargic. I was making weekly visits to Vet who put her on Vetoryl which made her WORSE! She stopped eating all together even though they lightened the dosage to that of a 10 lb dog for my 68 lb dog. I began researching alternative homeopathic medicines and came across HMR Ligmans and read reviews. This reviews are legit! I put our Macie on this in conjunction with Melotonin and gave it to her 2x a day. Morning/Night along with CBD oil. Prior to this regimen I honestly didn’t think we would have Macie through Christmas! After about a week I noticed her hair growing back, after a month not only did it grow back but her coat is as soft as a puppy’s coat; never in her life had her coat been so silky. She has stopped drinking incessantly (normal now) her energy and spunk is back. She is able to now get on/off our bed without help. She was also dragging her paws and slipping easily which has gone away ! THIS WORKS! Must stay with the regimen. This is now part of her daily meds for rest of her life. Side note- we took her off dry kibble ( she wouldn’t eat anything until we found Fresh Pet Food. That in conjunction with HMR Ligmans, Melatonin, CBD Oil has completely reversed all symptoms. NOTE- the only prescription med she is on is Ursidol which helps with the Liver. Here is her before and after pics. Before Pic you can see how even the hair on her nose was falling off and life in her eyes were dull and dazed. . After pic- says it all! I’m so glad I took the time to research. Don’t let the doctor sway you from doing what’s best for your sweet pup. I almost feel compelled to walk back in to our Vets office and show them how homeopathic alternatives work!!

Worth a try for cushings disease
My 13 year old 20lb chihuahua was diagnosed for about 6 months now with cushings disease and started a limp with his front right leg. We had him on 30mg vetoryl but hated the idea of how this medication is harsh on his system. So, I bought this along with 20mg of hmr lignans and gave it to him right away which was around 1:30pm. At around 5:30pm that same day he was walking on that right leg again! We discontinued the vetoryl and tried this method instead. His thirst, hunger, and frequent urination did come back the first 3-4 days of the switch but we gradually worked our way up the dosage. We started with 1/4ml of hemp oil and opened a capsule of 20mg of hmr lignans poured on his food for breakfast. We realized around day 4-5 that his symptoms were manageable during the day but worse at night as if the dosage wore off. Now, we pour 1/4ml hemp oil and 20mg hmr lignans on his watered down kibble and repeat the same dosage on his watered down kibble for dinner. We are at about 11 days on this dosage and he doesn’t go through water like a race horse as much as the beginning of the transition. His urination has been more controlled (we don’t need a diaper anymore). He is way more mobile than before, he wags his tail and seems much happier, and he doesn’t mind either of the taste on his food. Two days into the transition he actually stood up on his two front paws to lean on my lap which he hasn’t done in a very long time. I hope this detailed review helps others out since the other reviews definitely helped me out. Also, price wise we were spending about $96 on 30mg vetoryl monthly and these two products should last me about a month and a half to 2 months for about $40. I’m also looking into pure melatonin for dogs which I hear is a great combination for cushings disease in dogs. If we find the right melatonin and dosage we will incorporate the melatonin to his dinner only to substitute the 1/4ml hemp oil at night.

Worth a try for Cushings
I started using this along with melatonin for my dog who the vet highly suspects has developed Cushings disease, further testing would be more stressful and expensive and he was not recommending it at this time. I thought trying this in combination with the melatonin that I read about online was worth a try. It's been a few weeks and I have noted that it seems her thirst has improved to the point that she leaves water in her bowl sometimes and hasn't been begging for water, she also seems more relaxed at night and is sleeping better. At the very least there have been no ill effects, and it seems it might be helping.

Miracle for dog with cushings
My dog was diagnosed with cushings October 2018. She is 22lb. I started her on 10m of lignans and 3m of melatonin twice a day. By November/December I didn't think she was long for this world. By the end of January 2019 she started showing some improvement. By the end of February it was like a miracle. Seriously, I couldn't believe it. Today she is still doing really well. She still wants to drink more than she should, I can't really leave her more than 5, 6 hours at most because she needs to pee more and she still has bit of a pot belly, but apart from that she is living a full, happy life and hikes 7-8 miles with me easily. She is 12. In the last month or so she has been panting a lot and belly is more bloated but she's still happy and lively. She has a vet appointment next week. But whatever happens, I'm absolutely certain that the lignans and melatonin bought her two and a half years of good quality life. If your dog has cushings please try this rather than the perscription meds which my vet told me are very hard on the dog. Also you should give it up to 4 months to really start making a difference.

They saved my dog after vet ran out of options
Cushings suspected, not formally diagnosed. Long history of steroid use for extensive and severe chronic allergies. Nothing we tried for allergies helped the constant skin infections, had to be on antibiotics often. Was tested for diabetes because of chronic panting and urinating- as well as massive increase in thirst and hunger even once steroids were entirely stopped and out of system, continued for months. Dog was clearly suffering and we thought it would be the end soon. Did some research online. Vet had never heard of them but said seems safe to try it out. Within days my dog was back. He takes 4 of these 20 mg capsules spaced thru-out the day at 36 lbs. as well as prescription gabapentin, arthritis medication, and several allergy pills. No more skin infections, minimal panting, accidents became rare again and dogs general attitude is so much better (had begun biting out of fear/annoyance which was not typical at all, but this has completely stopped and his attitude is sweet again.) Truly so grateful to have found this reasonable priced product.

Consider Ground Flax
Stuffing one of the pills down the throat of my dog, is not an easy task. So, I tried separating the capsules to sprinkle Lignans over my dogs food, and, although the manufacturer's website says that is an alternative way of dispensing this product, separating the capsules, was more difficult (had to cut them) than stuffing them down my dogs throat. In the long run, I replaced these with the ground flaxseed powder from the same manufacturer, which was much, much easier to dispense. I do think, however, that the combination of Lignans and Melatonin seems to have helped my 13 year old dog with suspected Cushing's disease.

VERY effective in treating Cushing's syndrome in dogs!
My 15 year old shih-tzu was diagnosed with Cushing's disease. I noticed him panting a lot, drinking much more water and then having accidents in the house. I attributed it to old age but the vet said it was Cushing's. The medication is over $60 a month and though I want him to be comfortable in his remaining time here I figured I'd try a natural remedy first. I read multiple studies about Lignans being affective in pets for treatment. Some people used it in conjunction with CBD oil and others used 1 mg of melatonin for a comparable dog weight. I started with 10 mg. I pour half a 20 mg capsule and into his food along with a dissolvable, no water needed 1 mg melatonin. I saw a little progress after about 2 weeks so I increased to the full dosage of 20 mg but did not increase the melatonin dose. It's been 2 months and he's no longer showing ANY of the signs and symptoms he did orginally. I plan to have him retested by the vet after our COVID-19 lockdown is over. I know a lot of vitamins have benefits that aren't expressly written but it's stated right on the bottle that Lignans helps to decrease the amount of stress hormone in the body. We didn't have any adverse effects from the medicine except he slept a little more in the beginning until he adjusted to the melatonin. This is an inexpensive yet very effective treatment for Cushing's disease in dogs. I hope it helps your babies the way it's helped ours. Keep in mind it does take about 2 weeks of consistent dosing to start seeing improvement so don't give up if you don't see changes immediately.

Seems to be helping
I've been giving my boy this along with melatonin for a few months now and noticed a decrease in his excessive drinking and urination. I hope they restock the 40mg HMR Lignans soon because we've run out and I haven't been able to find a replacement.

Expensive!
I was recommended these for my dog who had developed cushings disease. I don't know if they helped her. But they were a nightmare to administer and get down her. I eventually gave up. The price was also shocking when you can import them from USA for a fiver.
