is this thick or heavy?

I find it to be light, but buildable. Definitely not thick or heavy.

Does it have a smell?

No. I love this product! It goes on smoothly. I tend to mix it with a little bit of moisturizer, which helps to spread even more evenly. I think this is a matter of preference.
