I’ve been following Dr. Ellie’s tooth care system for about a month. I bought everything that she suggests we use to help us with our teeth and gums. I love the taste of the Zellie’s Spearmint mints. They are refreshing and have just the right amount of mint flavor. When I chew them, my mouth immediately begins to make saliva, and they keep my mouth moist during the night. I generally am a mouth breather and my mouth gets so dry while I sleep. These mints have really helped in that regard. Since I’ve been using the mints, my teeth feel shiny and smooth. I wake up with nice smelling breath too! I would highly recommend these Zellie mints. NOTE - please keep these away from your dogs as they are highly toxic to dogs.

I would have loved to buy this product in support of Dr Ellie who has generously taught so much (for free!) about tooth care... but I have a HUGE problem with paying CAD $64 (U$44 at the current exchange rate) for an item that's being sold on the US site for U$24!! At that difference, it makes more sense for me to drive to the border and pick up a pack in the US! At a crunch, I bought one pack of the Zellies to give myself time to research... then felt confident enough to make this myself with non GMO xylitol and peppermint (no additives). The process took less than 10 minutes and yielded candy that look like candy cane, though were not as hard! I was going to type my recipe but did not want to undercut Dr Ellie. Mine was a huge success and, even with having to spend on a mold that will be used for multiple batches, I spent just over $24 and yielded about 1.5 the amount that is being sold. Until they bring that price down, I will continue to make my own as that price is just too hard a pill to swallow!!

Tasty mints with xylitol are good for your teeth. Unfortunately the xylitol is too much and doesn’t agree with my stomach. Dangerous and deadly for dogs.
