Great Company
I had a problem with this dehumidifier after about 6 months. Customer service made it right on the spot. Highly recommend!

Service / Missing Part
Ordered the 4000 model and it arrived without the drain hose fitting (supposed to be shipped in the water bin and was not). Surprise, the part is on back order and not available. Hmmm. A few days short of 3 months now. Should have shipped it back to Amazon the day I got it missing a part. It's hard for me to waste resources on what should have been an easy 1 email fix with a $1 part from the manufacturer. Is this a sign of the times (part shortages) that there are no easy fixes in todays world? Morale of the story: Until the supply chain stabilizes you might be better off returning "anything" you can that is not "100% perfect". The HL 4000 REALLY pulls water but is loud due to its strong performance (especially empty), auto starts on a timer. The HL works so well not having an auto drain connection is borderline just stand there awhile and the bin will be full (ok I made that up but its bad ass). My second unit the GE 3 speed (choice of noise level verse performance) came with all the parts, and now I'm feeling all the parts = better cause the timer / auto drain lets it run all night anyway. To summarize no downside to an HL (other then performance = noise) if yours comes with all the parts and if it doesn't return it ASAP. If I had a flood to recover from and it had the drain fitting the HL is your unit. This baby pulls water!

Exceptional
Exceptional is the one word that best sums up my experience with both the product and the company. This is the 4th dehumidifier I've had in this location. It's replacing a Shinco unit that died early. While this is not as quiet as the Shinco, it works an order of magnitude better. Just a bit more fan noise means much better air circulation and a more effect unit. This does an amazing job of removing moisture and what puzzles me most is the air smells so fresh ! I've not experienced with with any other dehumidifier. When my other unit goes, it will be replaced with one from hOmeLabs. I had a shipping issue with my order and needed help to resolve it. I am frankly amazed at just how good their customer support is, second to none. They put a good deal of time and effort into taking care of this issue. This is not the level of customer support I expect from an online vendor. It's more like what I've experienced from a small, hometown store keeper. Exceptional !

They do appear to honor their warrantird
I purchased the hOmeLabs 4,000 Sq. Ft Energy Star Dehumidifier with Pump about 10-months ago. Until a few weeks ago it seemed to be doing a fine job. However, the unit started making loud sounds that indicate the compressor is already breaking. No problem I thought; it was less than a year and the product is under warranty. However, Homelabs now only accepts contacts through email and it took them several days to respond; longer than i'd like. But they did agree to replace the unit.

Some thoughts
My wife and I purchased this unit that is rated for 4,000 ft², and also has a pump. It replaced a 12-year-old Samsung unit that was manual empty only. So let's start out with the cons. If you're going to use the bucket, the bucket is very small and will need emptied often. Another con is that the directions for the unit are not very clear, or well written at all. Lastly, I do not think that this unit could handle appropriate moisture removal for a 4,000 ft² space. My basement is about 650 ft² And sometimes it's struggles. Now, grant you I live on the Ohio/Pennsylvania / West Virginia panhandle and in the summer, it is quite humid. Most days it pumps water just fine into our utility sink. Some days though, it maintains a humidity level of about 60% even though it's set at 35%. Now, keep in mind, it's also 90 to 95% humidity outside on some days. So let's get on to the pros. I love the fact that I do not have to empty the machine. I love the fact that it, for the most part, maintains the set humidity level. I love the fact that it has a light that reminds me to clean the filter. I love the fact that it has a turbo and a regular mode. I love the fact that it is so quiet. I love the fact that my basement remains fairly dry. I love the fact that the amount of mold, mildew, and just that old basement smell no longer exist. I love the price. Now, let's talk about longevity. If it holds up it's well worth the price. My Samsung was about twice as much and I had 12 good years of continuous use. I hope this helps somebody.
