LED is completely useless
I give it 3 stars because it is just a plain Refractometer. I thought the added LED was going to be a great feature, but then when I tried it, it was not good at all. The whole table would be blue. You can't tell where the line is to determine the salinity. I had to take it off, and just use it as regular Refractometer.

Don't waste money on led version
Don't waste money on the led light. It just causes the entire field to be blue and you won't see any line. It's a gimmick.Check packaging as well as it was not packed with any packing cushion. Luckily the box itself came with foam in its case and packaged well. The refractometer so far seems to work well and to be accurate. Easy to adjust and calibrate. Works as it should.

Refractometer!!
This is above expectation. I bought this for my brother and friend. There work consists of measuring the quality of water (seawater) of the coastline in our country, Because of the limited resources in there lab (local) they were always guessing. So this is a good handy tool for them

Great tool, poor packaging
Love the tool, came in with a broken case, maybe should have been packaged a little better. All the stuff inside looked ok.

It does work easy though.
I paid extra for the LED attachment and it really does not help. It almost makes it harder to use. It does work easy though.
