Foundation Crawl Space Vent Cover

For many years we have been looking for a solution for the vents on our house. We found these vents here on Amazon and give them a try. As you can see in the photo our vents are big so it took 2 vents per opening. My brother built PVC frames and mounted the vents on the frames. We are very happy with the end product. It was not inexpensive but when it gets cold and all we have to do slide the small door closed we believe it will be worth it. Give them a try. Thank you..

To me, these are expensive. $30 each for plastic with screening, and no screws. However, if you look around, there are very few choices to have something that does what this does, which is to replace your existing vent covers on the outside of your manufactured home, mobile home, etc.... with something that simply slides open or closed. The other reason I needed these was their size. We needed the larger height than what some of the others on the market offer. One of the nice features is that there is room for 6 screws. I like overkill - plenty of room to hold this down to the wood underneath. The other thing I noticed was that it appears the screen is actually molded INTO the plastic - like they poured the plastic over and around the full screen - it does not look like it's simply going to pop out. Time will tell on how long these will last. I'm in Oregon, so it does not normally get too cold for too long. Depending on the type of plastic they used, hopefully these will not get brittle and fall apart quickly - but at least they will not rust. Do your research, and really take measurements. Finding the right ones isn't as easy as expected.

Vent is perfect for what I wanted on my crawlspace vents, but the size doesn't line up with standard 16x8 foundation vents. I designed a 3d printable adapter to make it work for my needs. Vent looks very clean and does exactly what I needed. You can find the adapter on makers world.

Every winter, we had to insert bricks wrapped in plastic in my Mom's cinder block 'vents' on her house built in the 60's. All other vent covers didn't fit, because of the center beam in the block. I thought, there has to be another way. And here it is! Easy to install, fits flush, easy to open and close based on the season, and no more stopping up the holes when it gets cold. And with the screens included... no more critters getting in during warm months. Thank you!!! PS. We found the video on installation and also spray painted the inside cinder block black before installing vents... now you can't see the cinder block beam through the vent. It looks great!

These covers fit perfect on my crawlspace vents and were easy to install. They do not come with screws for installation, so I purchased matching grey deck screws at the local hardware store.

If your crawl space is 16X8 then this will not fit. Although the product looks nice, it is made with very cheap plastic. Mine came broken and the seller is asking for return shipment. Overall I'm unhappy since this vent cover is not only cheap and flimsy but also does not fit a 16X8 vent size. And I cannot return it.
