I really enjoyed the TRUBAR Vegan Protein Bar in Strawberry Shorty Got Cake. It has a dessert-like flavor that doesn’t taste artificial, which is hard to find in protein bars. The texture is soft and satisfying, and it actually feels like a treat. I appreciate that it’s plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, and made without sugar alcohols. I bought these TRUBAR Strawberry Shorty Got Cake flavor bars looking for a protein option that didn't taste "artificial" and the truth is that they surprised me a lot. From the first bite, the flavor really reminds of a strawberry cake, sweet but balanced, without that strange aftertaste that many bars have. I love that they are made from plants and that they do not contain gluten, dairy products, soy or sugar alcohols, because I am very careful with the ingredients I consume. Each bar has 12 g of protein and 12 g of fiber, so it keeps me satisfied for several hours, perfect as a mid-morning snack or when I don't have time to prepare something else. The texture is soft and pleasant, it does not feel hard or dry, and the size is ideal to carry in the bag. In addition, it gives me a lot of peace of mind to know that I am eating something with cleaner ingredients, without sacrificing the flavor. After trying them, I would definitely buy them again and would also recommend them to those looking for a vegan protein bar that really tastes good and feels like a taste, not an obligation.

I absolutely love this bar. The bar is soft and fresh. It has a strawberry flavor that’s perfectly sweet. It has a good amount of protein to keep me full and the sugar content is okay. I like that it has better, healthier ingredients. It’s portable and easy to toss in a bag for snacks or workouts. It does have a chalky protein taste and the texture is chewy and gets suck in and hurts my teeth but overall it’s a tasty and convenient protein snack.

I’ve tried a lot of protein bars and most of them either taste too artificial or have a weird texture, but this one was actually really good. The Strawberry Shorty flavor tastes like a sweet treat without being overly sugary. It’s soft, filling, and perfect when I need a quick snack during the day. I also like that it doesn’t leave that heavy protein aftertaste. Definitely one of the better protein bars I’ve tried!

I tried the TRUBAR vegan protein bar in strawberry cake flavor and I really liked it. It has a smooth texture, it's not dry or gritty like some other vegan bars, and the flavor is sweet but pleasant, quite reminiscent of a strawberry cupcake. I like that it has 12g of protein, a good amount of fiber, and that it doesn't contain gluten, dairy, soy, or sugar alcohols, so it didn't upset my stomach. It's an excellent option for when I want something convenient, delicious, and healthier as a snack or after a workout.

I have purchased the PB&J version of these bars in the past and found them delicious. However this box of strawberry shortcake flavor have now had TWO bars with thread-like fiber inside of them. Super bizarre and disgusting. I’ll be throwing the rest of this box away and questioning if I will repurchase this brand again, which is a shame because the protein and fiber content are awesome.

These bars are a bit sweet at first bite, but as you keep eating the flavor becomes more balanced and smooth. The texture is nice and easy to chew, and they feel like a solid on the go snack. Good plant based option with decent protein and fiber, and overall pretty satisfying once you get into it. Really enjoyed the texture, it’s closer to nougat just a bit softer.

Never heard of this brand or tried it before. This is my first time trying these and honestly I was pleasantly surprised and impressed!! I will definitely repurchase

I love the Strawberry Shortcake ones, but I'm not in love with any of the other flavors I've tried so I love that I can buy a whole box of this one. It's sort of a strange pasty texture but I find the flavor really good and easy to get down vs some other protein bars. Doesn't have a ton of protein in it but that's okay.

Protein bars are a weird lot. You tend to either get something that tastes like soggy sawdust, or it's basically a candy bar marketed as "health food". These definitely buck that trend, by being (relatively) tasty and actually achieving what they've set out to do. Namely, being a reasonable plant-based source of protein (that's dairy, soy, and gluten free!) that tastes good without relying on a lot of sugar or weird sugar "alternatives". That's honestly huge. Yes it does have sugar in it, but it's organic cane sugar and truly there isn't that much (compared to the aforementioned "healthy" candy bars). The protein seems to come from rice, cashews, and peas. So it's not nut free, but you got to draw the line somewhere unfortunately. The consistency is pretty chewy, I guess from the tapioca fibre, but it's still easy to chew. Kinda forces you to eat it slower, which is probably a good thing so you don't down the whole thing in a couple bites. You can definitely taste the strawberry, it's not overwhelming but it's there. At worst I'd still describe it as pleasant. Your mileage may vary, but it's leagues above those "sawdust" bars I mentioned. The frosting also helps. Unfortunately I can't give these five stars, but it's really the price that's the only con in my books. You do get a pretty decent number of these in the box, and the shelf life is reasonable. But even though they're relatively nutritional, they'll still be a guilty pleasure due to the price. Still, if you're desperate for more protein in your diet and you need to juggle other dietary concerns while also having a bit of accounting for taste, these are certainly worth a try.
