if you wash this, does the mane get messed up?

I have one of these in a different color. I washed mine in a washing machine, and the mane and tail matted up.

Do these fit a size 9" in woman size

Its hard to equate moose size with woman size. Roughly speaking, this is a size Q in moose size, and I think that equates to about a size 8 of woman size. I could be wrong.
