I have an FTS thermostat that no longer works. Is this a replacement for that model?

The FGS replaced the FTS units. It will work with the floor sensor and can be used on either the 120 or 240V systems.

Where can I find clear instructions for operating this unit?

Only in the installation booklet. And they aren't very clear. Long, complicated, many steps.

will this work with ditra heat?

I have Ditra Heat in another room and I purchased the controller that goes with it. I expect this one would work as well but since Ditta is German, and “special” I wouldn’t risk it. I suggest you buy the one specifically made for Ditra. The one you ask about works fine for my embedded wire system, but again not sure about Ditra.
