They come with a pen tip cover, remove that first. It’s nice that it came with that so the pens didn’t dry out. I had one of these pens and I loved it so much, I bought the entire pack of them. I always buy single pens to see if I’m going to like them before purchasing a whole line of them. This is one of those pens I had one of that I wanted more of. They glide across the paper. They take a second to dry so they don’t smudge. If you’re journaling, these are the pens to buy. You can write, draw or color with them. They have great precision. Nice and clean lines. I wrote all of the color names next to the pens so you can see what you’re getting. I used a light so it’s as clear as I could get it to show what you get. Anyway, enjoy!! These are excellent. My kindergartener tried my gel pens and wanted some of her own. These are bold and vivid with smooth ink flow. And she loves clicking away as all pens in this set are retractable. She uses them for drawing and coloring and loves her "big kid" set of gel pens. I don't have to worry if her little sisters get a hold of them as they are washable. I like them, too. They are full-size and similar in length to my Pentel Energel pens but in way funner colors. These cost a lot less than similar sets of Paperjoy, Bic, Pilot, or Pentel gel pens. I'm loving that Crayola has branched out into office supply type offerings that not only work well but are suitable for "kids"... of all ages. Mommy and kiddos tested and recommended.

I really wanted to write rave reviews about these. I picked up the pack of 14 for just under $8, and had low expectations to begin with. But, as the title says, they fell just short of a home run. Here's the rundown (according to me): Pros: -Variety of Colors - some are more bold, others more muted. I prefer this, although if you want screaming colors on each pen, you may be disappointed -Overall they write very smoothly, without any heavy scratching or difficulty. A must have for anything labelled 'gel' -Value is reasonable for the amount of ink/colors. -Crayola brand is reputable -Ink dries fairly quickly which is great for note taking or journaling Cons: -Inconsistent quality control - of the 14, my red and blue-green pens have ink flow issues, resulting in scratchy performance or missed letters/blobs of ink. The other ones don't seem to suffer from this issue, but I would have preferred to see more fluid performance across the board. -Washable - for me this is con, because any reasonable amount of moisture may cause the ink to run, and the last thing i need is to have a few drops from my perspiring water bottle cause a watercolor painting. - Build quality, while comfortable, feels very cheap - I don't need something made of heavy steel, but even the papermate gel pens have more substance. I feel like they could've done a bit better. -Retractible issues - because of how obnoxiously large the click top is, you may find yourself inadvertently drawing on your inner palm, shirt/jean pocket, or whatever else they are near; this is the one part where having them washable is a perk, since I've found myself with a handful of ink marks. Overall, a pretty nice product with a few design quirks and occasional pen issues. If you can get past those details, you'll enjoy this set of pens.

oh I bought these for my niece y'all and she just loves loves loves them. Now she's 17 so I can say adults will likely love them too. The flow is easy, the ink doesn't get all goopy at the tip, y'all know what I'm talking about it when I say that. I wish they came in glitter is the only real pseudo negative thing I can say which isn't a complaint so much as it is a suggestion to Crayola. I can say these are for all ages toddlers to age 100 and beyond. They are safe for all ages and will be enjoyed by everyone. Now parents: Don't go raiding their gel pens come Christmas Card time - get yourselves a set and you'll be set for every greeting card you'll ever write!~!

I'm a teacher and a total geek about my writing instruments. I've been using Papermate Ink Joy pens for a while now, but when I saw the colors Crayola had for gel pens, I thought I'd give them a try. First of all, the 24 pack of pens for $19.99 comes to $0.83 per pen while the 14-pack for $8.44 is $0.60 per pen. (I made that a math problem in my seventh grade curriculum.) That's a pretty ridiculous price difference. The Good: The picture probably doesn't do justice to the colors. The light blue, blue, light purple, purple, and what I call the "aqua green" are quite vibrant and lovely and a huge upgrade from the corresponding Ink Joy pens. For those five colors, I'm glad I purchased them. Several of the colors are indistinguishable from the corresponding Ink Joy pens, so I essentially have duplicates of several colors. The Bad: The pinks are pathetic. I hope you can tell from the picture that the colors of the pen casing are NOT a good match for the color of the ink, particularly the pen with the brighter shade of pink. Crayola calls it "Berry Pretty" but I don't find it pretty at all. Ink Joy wins hands down on the pink. The So-So: The "click" is pretty wimpy. Bottom line: I'll probably purchase them again just to get the five great colors unless Papermate reads this and adds to the Ink Joy line.

I bought these for my 2 year old because she likes to use pens. She has drawn all over herself and the walls with these (toddlers are quick) and it has wiped off the walls very easily. Giving her a bath takes it off her skin with out to much scrubbing. The colors are also very vibrant and they write very nice. They are a good quality pen for the price point.

These are the best pens I’ve ever used! Colours are great and they don’t bleed. Only thing I wasn’t happy with was how fast they ran out of ink - my favourite colours lasted just under a month
