stainless steel fridge/freezer thermometer. Ideal For Home, Restaurants, Bars, Cafes

Very pleased with this fridge/freezer thermometer. The dial is easy to read and understand - much better than the previous one I had. I can now see that my previous one was inaccurate and I needed to change the fridge setting. Very reassuring to know that my fridge is now keeping food at the right temperature.

I bought this partly because my last freezer died and partly because I realised that I had no idea what was going on in the freezer as the 1-5 temp dial really doesn't tell you a lot. Having put this gadget in the freezer I was able to adjust the temp dial to get the reading at the right spot on the dial. I discovered that I had the temp dial up too high and turned it down to get the right reading. I am pretty sure that the reading is fairly accurate due to the "ice cream test". If the food in the freezer is frozen solid but you can still scoop "soft scoop" ice cream you know it is about right. Before installing this gadget I had to take a hammer and chisel to the ice cream! I would have given this product 5 stars but for one very small niggle. The face of the dial gets covered in frost so I have to give it a wipe off before reading it but this may be down to my type of freezer.

We were becoming somewhat concerned that our fridge was not cold enough in a current hot spell of weather, so I invested in this Fridge Thermometer. When it arrived I cranked the fridge temperature down until the needle pointed to the ideal temperature for a fridge. Unfortunately at that temperature everything in the fridge was frozen solid! So we have now concluded that a temperature several degrees above the green section of the scale is about right. So although it isn't the most accurate fridge thermometer, now we know how far out it is to be about right.

I got this to test my freezer as the food stored in this freezer always got freezer burn, I defrosted it and brought this to test my freezer after that. It showed that it wasn't getting cold enough and therefore ice crystals were forming on the food. This little thermometer sat perfectly on the shelf and was easy to read. Pleased with my purchase.

If you put it in a Freezer it frosts up making it impossible to read, you would need to remove it from your freezer to wipe the face which defeats the object of placing it in the Freezer because any subsequent reading will not be accurate. Fine if you want to use it in the fridge other than the obvious rise in temperature by opening the Fridge door letting in warmer air... Also, it is tiny but it's also very cheap.

Great size - Fits in the front of the freezer draw perfectly. Easy to read display - Colourful and clear. Pleasing looks - Steel and robust stand. Economic - Doesn't need batteries. Good value - Well built and does what it should do with excellent accuracy.
