Bought this to aid with unstable beach/shore entries for scuba diving because I can clip it on or stick it in my BCD pocket during the dive. Worked great

Note: this review is for the SHORTER version of these sticks, not the standard size. My 4'11' mom - age 74 - used them when she visited recently & LOVED them!! She always walks with sticks but couldn't travel with the ones she uses every day, so these fit the bill perfectly. They pop into place with no effort (in fact, use caution- they spring together quickly, almost on their own!) and fold back up easily. I wish there was a tote that could hold two rather than a separate sack for each one- but not a big deal, we can find our own. Very lightweight and portable. Highly recommended.

I have almost a mile hike up and down some very steep city streets to get to work. The inclines were killing my knees, so I got this to help take some of the pressure off of them. It has been wonderful. I highly recommend this product. I'm 5' 2" and it was adjustable to the perfect hight for me. It also folds up quickly and easily so I can put it away when I get on a bus. (When folded it fits nicely into the outside umbrella pocket on my backpack.) And just because it folds easily, doesn't mean it is flimsy or unstable. When deployed, it withstands all of my weight on it and doesn't buckle. I bought replacement tips at the same time I purchased the pole, but I haven't needed them yet.

This works well, and I used it extensively on Path of the Gods (Amalfi coast). I had no issues with stability, collapsing, etc. My only complaint is that I am medium-sized, and at the time I purchased this (perhaps still), it only came in long and short sizes. I bought short, and it's a little too short for going down steep terrain. The fact that it folds quite small makes it great for traveling. Fits in a knapsack, whereas my old poles wouldn't even fit in a large suitcase.

I am 4'10" and this hiking stick works well. I bought the pole as an experiment. I am an avid scuba diver and almost all my dives begin at a rocky shore. At 71 I am not as flexible as I once was and I wondered if a folding walking stick would give me the additional stability I wanted for entry and exit at the shore. This one worked perfectly! I used it for 2 weeks, diving almost every day and it performed every time. I added a velcro strap to the upper part of the pole that I use to secure the pole in the folded position and then attach it to my BC during my dive. I simply open it up after returning for an easier exit out of the water. It has been 4 months since my last dive and there appears to be no rust on the pole and it continues to open and close without a problem. I also use the pole for its intended use on land for hikes and it functions well. The short length is just right for a short person like me.

Handy, good quality. Used for our kalaupapa Valley 5 day trek. I usually don't use sticks, but carrying a heavier than usual pack for longer distance over more days, I wanted the security of having some extra support. It made all the difference in the world. The last 2 hours of 1st day, the last 4 hours on last day, and crossing rising streams safely it gave me the extra support to be more stable and take the weight off my knees climbing up or down where it required a strong long step. Some people use 2 but I avoid using because I think it can ruin trails if too many are poking their way along a trail.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my package. The walking stick popped right open when I took it out of the plastic it came in and was just as easy to fold up. It fits perfectly in the cloth draw-string bag that came with it. My hubby and I are going to China next month and this will be perfect for all the walking we will be doing. I have an issue with arthritis in my hips, greater trochanteric bursitis in my right hip, and spondylosis in my back. It will be so convenient to pack this in a backpack, etc., as it folds to 12" and it is very lightweight. It will be so convenient to to be able to open it up, especially while walking the Great Wall. I love my wooden walking stick, but I knew that I wouldn't be able to pack it. This is exactly what I needed.

Well made, durable walking pole. Deploys quickly. I use mine for fly fishing.

I am 5’ 2” so this is great for me. Lightweight and fold up small (fits into the water bottle pouch on my small backpack) but feels sturdy enough to provide me the extra stability I need.
