Simple kitchen device. Better for grated cheese than most others.

It’s well made and grates easily and well. It seems like it should hold up to frequent use.

I use the "Coarse" model for grating things that I want finely grated, like parmesan, garlic, ginger, and lemon zest. I use the "Extra Coarse" model for grating softer cheeses like mozzarella and cheddar, and also for grating vegetables including onion, celery and carrot. These are superb tools and I would not want to be without them. The protective plastic covers are nice to have. Excellent blade design lets me easily slide the grated material off of the grater.

... my first purchase from microplane. many other microplane products followed; always reasonably priced, including more graters. we have XL hands and really enjoy the feel of the handle; oval(wide) shape, ergonomic curve and just enough length. imagine how VERY DISAPPOINTED we were when new graters arrived and found the handles changed for some reason. not XL friendly but the laser cut blades from arkansas usa still satisfy. WHY

Seems solid. People have complained about a plastic center and the handle falling off,,I read they resigned due to this issue,,,I have had for 3 weeks and can't see this happening, so maybe they did do something.

Very disappointed. I have an old microplane professional that I've loved for ~10 years, but it was starting to fail so I bought this to replace it. They changed the design and now the handle is plastic on the inside and where it joins to the body. One my third use it pulled apart. I didn't order the professional to get cheap plastic crap that comes apart while I'm using it!
