Exactly What We Needed
We've been working on emergency preparedness, and so I decided on this radio for several reasons. First, it has a NOAA weather radio setting so that we can get emergency directions when the Internet is down. It also has AM and FM radio bands and a manual tuner. It comes with a charging cable but no charging brick, so I used the brick that came with my Amazon Fire Tablet, and it charged up fine. There are several battery settings, the bottom one which uses the built-in lithium ion battery, and top one which uses triple-A batteries. It also has two LED flashlights, one a working light at the top and the other a flashlight on the side. It has a hand crank and a solar panel, which I tried to use. The solar panel is almost useless. The hand crank charges the radio very slowly; even the included instruction manual makes it clear that these two charging methods are not very effective. Good in a pinch, perhaps, but your best bet is to charge the radio with an electrical outlet and keep it at the ready. There are also LED light indicators for power, charging, and low battery. I got good reception with both local AM and FM radio and the NOAA weather band here in DFW using the small built-in antenna. There is also an SW band which is supposed to pick up BBC, Radio France, Voice of America, etc., but didn't get any reception with these settings where I live. The little built-in speaker was plenty loud. The built-in LED flashlights were very bright, and using them didn't run down the internal battery much. I used the working flip-up flashlight at the top to help light a poorly lit hallway while I was working on repainting the walls white, and it was an absolute lifesaver. My husband also used it while fixing things inside the walls and under the cabinets the bathroom. It would have been an awesome camping accessory if my husband and sons hadn't left it at home on our last camping trip. Better luck next time. Also on the side are a headphone jack, and a USB in port for charging, and a USB out port for charging a phone. The headphone jack and charging port both worked great. Others have said that the phone charging port is basically useless, so I haven't really tried it. There is also a red SOS button that apparently sets off some sort of alarm which I'm reluctant to try out. As a plus there is a little fabric strap with a compass attached. I tested the compass, and it seems to point to the north correctly despite turning it in different directions and the strong EM field my body gives off. Overall, I think this is a fantastic device. It has incredibly bright flashlights, emergency and non-emergency radio, several charging options, and long lasting battery and multiple battery options, headphone jack and charging ports. A must have for camping or emergencies.

Great versatile compact am/fm/noaa weather radio!
I had been wanting to get an AM/FM radio to stop using my phone and saw this one has the weather alert feature too. The different power options are great allowing you to take it wherever you want. It has the push buttons, not dials, but it does well in going through the different stations. I haven't checked out the shortwave feature yet, so that'll be interesting. It's small but yet when fully reaching your station you can hear it very well. I like Moody or Bott Radio and I'm thankful to get it clearly plus of course music. It is serving its purpose! It arrived quickly overnight. It arrived charged and I put it on a window (it's small enough to just sit on top of the bottom part of a regular window) for better reception and had it on a low volume while I worked so it wasn't overpowering yet I could hear the good things in the background. Then when not on the phone turned up the volume push button and it's amazing, nice and clear. I had wanted a retro radio but this one had more to offer. The small strap is handy, you can attach it to things. It's 6 inches or so wide (check your dimensions for what you want), so very small but efficient design and usability for it's size. The 6 led lights for reading or whatever are bright and adequate and has 2 levels of light. Flashlight has 2 levels of light. The charge seems to last a good while but I haven't had it on for a very long time, but had it on for at least 6 hours while working without it being plugged in. I'm so glad this little radio has so much to offer and I'm impressed. Great buy for sure.

Must have for emergencies
Great little emergency radio . Got AFTER long power failure from storm. Love that it has 4 ways to work - hand crank, solar, AAA batteries and rechargable using a USB charger. Its got a flashlight with emergency signal and hs NOAA , AM, FM and emergency alerts.. It will fit into any emergency go bag . its now charged and ready to go. Hope I don't need it soon but would highly recommend it,especially with all the recent severe storms across the country.

The best all-in-1 radio for emergencies. Everything you need to charge, stay safe, and informed.
This is a great compact all-in-one radio purchased as part of my emergency & hiking kit. I bought this specifically for the hand crank feature, NOAA & the built-in 5000 mAh battery power bank to guarantee a working radio/alerts/flashlight when all other charging options are unavailable or have failed. While the digital version was appealing, a LCD display does use power and will eventually fail which kinda’ defeats the purpose. I also wanted something that was lightweight and portable for me to carry vs the old worldstar “portable” unit my boyfriend insists on lugging around. It wasn’t until recently that we got to compare the two units and this had much better radio reception and we could actually pick up more active bands and NOAA weather channels during a ‘real tropical disturbance’ (Debbie) than his portable! It appears this little radio not only picks up weather alerts and SW bands, but it also picks up a wider range of local radio stations not available on our other home units. The sound quality is better than what you’d expect for this size radio. Actually, it’s quite impressive. The audio comes in clear and decent on the internal speaker & on headphones when using the jack (with or without the telescopic antenna extended). I’ve tested pretty much all the functions and have accidentally set off the SOS alarm (it definitely works by the way & so does the red flasher!). Everything works great. Even the flash light & reading lamp puts out good illumination and with the strapped on NSEW compass you might be able to get your bearings. It’s still a hard call of how efficient the unit will be when tested under a live situation, but hopefully it won’t come to that. It charges reasonably quickly for USB and AC, with solar being the more timely followed by hand cranking. With a 5000 mAh battery I should be able to rely on this as a decent backup should my Anker die. Anyway, as the saying goes, ‘it’s better to have and not need, than to need and not have’. I’m happy to ‘have’ the Solar Crank CR1009 as part of my emergency kit to keep me informed during emergencies. It’s takes up little space and weighs under 15 oz, making it extremely portable to carry in your over nighter, sling bag, sport bag, backpack, etc. when hiking, camping, glamping etc. You can also attach or hang it with the carabiner provided. The only feature not included was making it waterproof and that’s easily solved with a ziplock gallon bag. Overall, this is exactly what I was looking for. It’s plain, simple, compact, reliable, well built, and at a good price point. It’s your life line to staying safe and informed during unexpected weather events whether it be blizzard, wildfire, flash floods, earthquake, hurricane, electrical storms, etc. This is totally worth every penny and 5 Stars! Highly recommend.

I really like it
Well thought out emergency radio. I especially like having multiple options for recharging and not having to depend solely on a just rechargeable battery. I’m not sure how well the shortwave will function in my region, but the AM and FM stations were found quickly. The sound is what you’d expect from a small radio but it’s acceptable for this price range. The flashlight and reading lamp were bright and would be very useful in a power outage. It’s a really nicely built little radio and I’m pleased with it.

Raynic Emergency Radio, 5000mAh/18500mWh Weather Radio highly recommended
Raynic Emergency Radio, 5000mAh/18500mWh Weather Radio has many versatile options & is user friendly. Easily portable for emergency use. Since it can be solar powered, it is easy enough to place out in the sun so it is read for emergency use. Volume is adjustable, options are easy enough to figure out where the options are & how to use them in an emergency. Highly recommend a radio like this in one of your emergency places; for the price you can have one on each floor of your house for easy access as well as in a car or basement.

Great Emergency Radio – Portable and Packed with Features!
I really like this emergency weather radio and am very happy with my purchase. One of my favorite things about it is the variety of charging options. Having multiple ways to keep it powered gives me peace of mind, especially during storms or power outages. The hand crank, solar charging, and rechargeable battery make it a very practical emergency item to have on hand. One thing that surprised me was the size—it’s smaller than I imagined. But honestly, that turned out to be a huge plus! Its compact size makes it super portable and easy to store, whether in an emergency kit, car, or backpack. Despite being smaller, it still feels functional and packed with useful features. The flashlight and weather radio functions work great, and it feels like a dependable item to keep around for emergencies. If you’re looking for a compact, versatile emergency radio that’s easy to take anywhere, I definitely recommend this one!

Good little radio but needs better shortwave functionality.
Nice little radio packed with with some good features. Weather band and FM reception in my area are pretty good. Long wave is non existent in my region .AM I can only get at night and is staticky because of where I live. Lights and powerpack are very good. The siren is loud. The biggest drawback is with Shortwave tuning. There is no separate button that you can go from one station in one wave length to another in a different wave length so you have to scan through all stations in the different wave lengths which can take some time. If there was a separate button that would allow you to go a specific wave length to scan channels would be a feature that would make this a better unit.
