A strong ally in the battle against drain gnats
While fighting a pesky drain gnat / drain fly infestation a few months ago, I had already set out glasses of a apple cider vinegar/water/dish soap solution (covered with punctured cling wrap) near all of our main drains. While they were catching and drowning their fair share of flies, I ordered these reinforcements to completely end the infestation as quickly as possible! In order, I purchased: 1. Harris Fruit Fly Drain Treatment Gel (0.5/5) 2. Protecker Fruit Fly Traps (1/5) 3. AllRoad Window Fly Traps (4/5) 4. Dynatrap DT3019-1003P Flylight (5/5) In the hopes of helping those combating a similar infestation decide what to purchase, I will post this complete review+pictures on each product page, with the reviews listed as numbered above. 1. Harris Fruit Fly Drain Treatment Gel (0.5/5): This was my first purchase, and second most-expensive only to the Dynatrap light. Now, it's possible that it may 'suffocate' the eggs/larvae in drains, but given its relatively-thin viscosity, I kind of doubt even this (especially if used in drains that will be utilized at all during the treatment period instead of sealed over with cling wrap.) I can say that (other than the aforementioned homemade traps,) I was using this for about a week before getting the other solutions, and noticed no significant effect. As an experiment, I even set out a small cup of the gel, and flies flew into and drowned in it... Then I left the container itself open by my bathroom sink, and the flies just saw another drain to fly into (see picture!) The only reason this even warrants half of a star, in my experience, is that it does smell pleasant. 2. Protecker Fruit Fly Traps (1/5, not pictured): I ordered the set of 2. These are literally just cuter, less-stabile versions of the homemade traps I had already set out. They do come with a small vial of what I assume is apple cider vinegar, but certainly not enough to add a substantial amount to the traps, so I just made the normal solution and then distributed the vial contents. I was hoping that the addition of adhesive 'traps' above the liquid trap would catch passersby, but this hope was in vain-- neither adhesive trap caught a single fly! And, compared with their homemade counterparts, these did not catch nearly as many flies (I assume the built-in holes are bored too widely, so the flies could check the liquid out, then easily escape.) I made the mistake of setting one on a ledge in a high-traffic area, and- being the kind of neurodivergent klutz who often bumps into things as I pass by- knocked it over a couple of times, causing it to pop open at the 'seam' and spill the vinegar solution, creating a stinky mess. I don't fault the product for this, but it's worth noting as a possible drawback if you are also cluttered'n'klutzy. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures before throwing both away as soon as the infestation was over with, but between the two I'd say they caught 10 flies maximum- none on the stickers- so there's not much to show, anyway. 3. AllRoad Window Fly Traps (4/5): I received these soon after receiving the Protecker traps, and while the Protecker traps had yet to catch a single fly, these window traps caught several within a couple of hours of installing them on my bathroom window. If you're on a budget and find yourself in this gnat-sy predictament, or if you just want multiple lines of defense like me, these are the way to go. The one drawback is that the 'window cling' line of adhesive is just as strong as the trap side-- and it is *strong.* Removing them did leave adhesive residue on my window, however I did leave them there for a couple of months beyond what was necessary, and a more-conscientious person removing them after a shorter time span may find this to be a non-issue. I'm sure Goo-Gone will take care of it... I'll get around to trying, eventually. 4. Dynatrap DT3019-1003P Flylight (5/5): Sure, this is the most pricey solution, but it gets a perfect rating for a few reasons: it is extremely effective, it has no reasonable drawbacks, and it is a device I'll be able to use beyond the infestation I got it for (can't wait 'til porch-sitting weather rolls back around to see how mosquitoes fare against it!) Installation was a snap, and within seconds of plugging it in, I watched a gnat fly right into the adhesive trap. I'm generally a bleeding heart-level animal lover (I even take the odd stinkbug/cricket/spider I find in my house outside and get sad when others smoosh them!) but let me tell you, seeing that gnat fly to its doom filled me with GLEE. In conclusion, I'd totally avoid the first two products unless you're just interested in conducting your own experiment. Instead, I'd recommend making a few homemade traps, and supplementing them with the window stickers and/or Dynatrap light. (Search for a 'recipe' online for the best ratio of water:vinegar:soap in the homemade traps, and don't forget to top them with carefully-punctured cling wrap; this will ensure more flies drown than escape.)

THIS IS "THE ONE" YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE!! GET THIS!!
YEAR AROUND WE COOK IN THE SLOW COOKER & THIS ALONE, WITH THE BACK DOOR CRACKED OPEN SO OUR SON CAN GO IN & OUT, DRAWS FLIES LIKE CRAZY. BEFORE WE GOT THIS, WE TRIED A NUMBER OF TECHNIQUES TO KILL FLIES & MY HUSBAND WAS STILL STANDING IN THE KITCHEN NEAR OUR BACK DOOR TO THE GARAGE & BACKYARD KILLING AT LEAST 40 FLIES JUST BEFORE DINNER & EVERY YEAR WE MOVE OUR GARBAGE CANS TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE YARD (90 FEET FROM THE OUTSIDE DOOR, TO PREVENT FLIES. NOTHING PREVENTED THIS NIGHTMARISH SITUATION UNTIL WE BOUGHT THE DYNO TRAP. OUR COOKING INVITED ALL THE FLIES! IN THS HORRIBLE SITUATION, WE FOUND THAT WE COULD NOT GO WITHOUT THIS FLY & MOSQUITO KILLING TRAP! WE HAVE NO MORE MOSQUITOS! THIS TRAP, UNDERNEATH OUR WINDOW IN THE DINING ROOM, NOT EVEN IN OUR KITCHEN, KILLS ALL THE FLIES COMING INTO OUR HOUSE. MY HUSBAND WAS SWATTING SO MANY FLIES UNTIL WE GOT THIS AND IT HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED THE NIGHTMARE. THE D.R. WINDOW DRAWS THE FLIES FROM THE KITCHEN DUE TO THE LIGHT COMING IN THE WINDOW & THIS TRAP IS PLUGGED IN RIGHT UNDER THE WINDOW, SO THE FLIES ARE DRAWN IN BY THE SMELL OF FOOD, BUT QUICKLY END UP AT THE WINDOW & LIGHT OF THE DYNO TRAP, WHERE THEY DIE ! IT HAS COMPLETELY SOLVED THE PROBLEM. I AM A READER SO I READ ALL THE REVIEWS ABOUT THIS ONE & OTHERS BUT THIS ONE LIVES UTO THE FINE REVIEWS! RECOGNIZE: YOU ONLY WANT SOMETHING THAT DRAWS THE FLIES & MOSQUITOES ONCE "IN YOUR HOUSE", YOU DON'T WANT SOMETHING THAT IS GOING TO DRAW THOUSANDS OF FLIES FROM OUTSIDE OF YOUR HOUSE. WE HAVE IT SET UP SO THE FLY OR MOSQUITO ENTERS THROUGH THE 2 DOORS, FIRST COMING IN THROUGH THE GARAGE AND THEN INTO THE KITCHEN, AND THEN, DESPITE THE 4 KITCHEN LIGHTS & FOOD BEING THE ATTRACTION, VERY QUICKLY THESE 2 BUGS ARE ATTRACTED TO THE LIGHT IN THE WINDOW JUST OUTSIDE THE KITCHEN, SO THEY ALL PASS THROUGH THE KITCHEN HEADING STRAIGHT FOR THE WINDOW WITH THE OUTSIDE LIGHT COMING IN & ONCE THERE, ON THE WINDOW THEY GO BELOW THE WINDOW TO THE PURPLE PINK LIGHT, TOUCH THE STICKY STRIP INSIDE & DIE AND THEY NEVER MAKE IT TO THE FRONT HALL OR LIVING ROOM BECAUSE THEY DIE AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE DINING ROOM FROM THE KITCHEN. THIS TURNED OUT TO BE THE PERFECT SET UP FOR PREVENTING THE FLIES FROM STAYING IN THE KITCHEN BUT NOT GOING BEYOND THE WINDOW IN THE DINING ROOM & INTO THE REST OF THE HOUSE. iT IS AMAZING HOW IT CAN ATTRACT THE BUGS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WHEN THEY ENTER THE KITCHEN THROUGH 2 BACK DOORS, EXIT THE KITCHEN ABOUT 2 OR 3 FEET, GET ATTRACTED TO THE WINDOW & THE DYNO TRAP LIGHT & NEVER MAKE IT OUT OF THAT AREA!! WHAT A RELIEF! IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING THAT THIS WAS ALL WE NEEDED TO BE MOSQUITO & FLY-FREE THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE HOUSE & INCREDIBLE THAT IT MOVES THE FLIES OUT OF THE KITCHEN DURING DINNER COOKING & TO THE DYNO TRAP UNDER THE WINDOW WHERE THEY DIE & THE PROBLEM IS OVER. THANK GOODNESS I CHOSE THE RIGHT ONE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION POSSIBLE FOR THIS INCREDIBLE DEVICE! I THINK YOU WILL EXPERIENCE THE SAME STUNNING RESULT AND THE RELIEIF!!

Its not the greatest but its still great
The DynaTrap fly trap has been a valuable addition to my home in dealing with flying insects, particularly gnats. Its unique design and features make it an effective solution, although it may have some limitations when it comes to capturing larger flies. Firstly, the DynaTrap's design is simple yet effective. Its UV light technology attracts flying insects, drawing them towards the trap. The device's whisper-quiet operation ensures that it doesn't create any disturbances, making it suitable for use in various living spaces. In terms of catching gnats, the DynaTrap excels. Its UV light is highly attractive to gnats, and the trap manages to capture them efficiently. It's been a relief to see a significant reduction in the gnat population around my home, especially during warmer months. However, when it comes to larger flies, the DynaTrap's performance isn't as impressive. While it does catch some flies, it may struggle to handle larger and more robust species effectively. This limitation might require additional fly control measures for more significant fly issues. On the positive side, the DynaTrap is chemical-free, using no pesticides or harmful substances. This eco-friendly approach makes it safe for use around pets and children. The maintenance of the DynaTrap is relatively straightforward. The removable tray allows for easy disposal of trapped insects, and the durable construction ensures long-lasting use. In conclusion, the DynaTrap fly trap is a useful tool for dealing with gnats and small flying insects around the home. Its effectiveness in catching gnats is impressive, providing a noticeable reduction in their population. However, it may have some limitations when it comes to capturing larger flies. If you are primarily concerned about gnats or smaller flying pests, the DynaTrap is a reliable and eco-friendly option to consider. For larger fly issues, additional strategies may be necessary. Overall, it has proven to be an asset in creating a more insect-free environment in my living space.

Sleek and Effective: DynaTrap to the rescue!
1. PROBLEM I WAS TRYING TO SOLVE: I needed an effective solution to manage flies, fruit flies, moths, gnats, and other flying insects indoors, especially near our patio door. The device had to be safe around pets and kids and fit seamlessly into our home decor. 2. DID IT SOLVE THE PROBLEM? Absolutely! The DynaTrap DT3009W-1003P Flylight Indoor Plug-In Fly Trap works wonderfully. Its sleek design blends well with our home decor, and it effectively traps various flying insects. We have them all over the house, including one near our patio door, and they work great at keeping pests at bay. 3. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: One of the standout features is the long-lasting light bulb and easily replaceable sticky screen. The trap stays on all the time, providing continuous protection. It doesn’t get hot, making it safe for pets and kids to touch. The compact and sleek design ensures it doesn’t look out of place in any room. 4. DRAWBACKS: The only minor issue is that the device stays on all the time. It would be more energy-efficient if it had an automatic on/off function that activated after dark. However, this is easily fixed with a timed outlet or an Alexa-compatible smart plug, which we use to control the device. 5. WOULD I PURCHASE AGAIN? Definitely. The DynaTrap Flylight has proven to be an effective and stylish solution for our indoor insect problems. Its ease of use, safety features, and effective trapping make it a great addition to our home. 6. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Our overall experience with the DynaTrap Flylight has been very positive. It provides a simple and effective way to keep our home free of flying insects. The ease of replacing the light bulb and sticky screen adds to its convenience. Plus, its sleek design doesn’t detract from our home’s aesthetic. 7. FINAL THOUGHTS: For anyone dealing with indoor flying insects, the DynaTrap DT3009W-1003P Flylight is an excellent choice. It combines functionality with style, ensuring effective pest control without compromising on safety or aesthetics. Its continuous operation keeps our home comfortable and pest-free. 8. TIPS FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS: Consider using a timed outlet or a smart plug to control the device and save energy. Regularly check and replace the sticky screen to maintain its effectiveness. Place the traps in areas where flying insects are most common, like near doors and windows, for optimal results.

The best product ever
This review is long overdue because I’ve had my lovely Dynatrap for 2 years almost. I originally bought it when I was having a gnat problem and was unsure how they were infiltrating our house. I tried all different devices and methods but none worked as good as this product. All you have to do is slide in a dynatrap sticky pad and plug it into the wall. All those pesky gnats, mosquitos, flies, moths, etc. get caught. There is no smell that I have noticed. I do try and avoid plugging it in within my curious dachshunds reach. However, that being said, this product has lasted me so long and you can see how many bugs get trapped on the sticky paper. The bugs that enter the door along with you when you get home from work, school, being out with family, etc. Bugs you don’t realize are there because they are so minuscule. The great part is the design is very cute since it looks like any regular night light. I prefer to plug my Dynatrap in before we go to bed and let it do it’s magic overnight. The bugs become attracted to the light hence why it’s so effective in collecting the critters. There is no noise that emits from this device either. It’s totally safe to use and very easy to install. And for the price? You can’t beat it, you just have to buy the replacement sticky pads which just one stick pad will last you a month or more depending on how often little bugs enter your home. This photo is one months worth of use. I always recommend this product to anyone struggling with this problem and even at the workplace I’ve recommended it because of how effective it is. 100/10 recommend ⭐️

It caught the big flies!! But it broke after a month or two
It works on bigger flies! Finally the first fly trap for my home. I only get like 1 house fly a day or so. That is why it’s very annoying for me to see just 1. --UPDATE-- After a month or two it broke. I'm disappointed but at the same time somewhat excited... Please, just hear me out for a sec. I bought like 3 other fly-catchers but none did well enough to catch the large flies, mostly fruit flies. In a way, i don't want to lower this rating to 2 stars for low durability but its potential is really high; just get past the durability issue. My point is really to get this message out to the team who created this product so that they make sure it is durable enough. Seriously, it's good but get it durable enough and it will be the best odorless & indoor fly catcher. Sure beats having those twirly sticky things hanging on the ceiling, they're not aesthetically pleasing to look at. Please let me know when you've figured out the durability issue and I'll come back again. I don't need a refund, I need a good working product. Then I'll buy the new one and update this review too. Pros: - definitely outperforms the other odorless competitors against all flies (by a huge margin) - odorless - its not a zapper so its much safer indoor - way more aesthetically pleasing than those sticky twirly things that hang on the ceiling Cons: - its SO BRIGHT - it just stopped working (durability issue?) - costly if you have to buy it every other month after it breaks

Starts Catching Flies Instantly
I get these annoying horse flies that sneak in my house every time I open the front door because it's a rural area. I hate them. They are slow and fly lazily right into my face and like to hover around my mouth and eyes. I am CONSTANTLY killing them, but I can never seem to catch them before they lay eggs in my houseplants and multiply. I've tried that gross sticky tape you hang from the ceiling, but my stupid cat keeps snatching it and I end up having to strip nasty fly covered goo from his long fur with peanut butter. So I decided to try this lighted trap instead. I assembled the light, peeled and placed the tape panel, and plugged the sucker into the hallway outlet. I thought I had 2 flies loose in my house, but they're good at hiding. I went to toss the tape panel backing paper in the trash and by the time I got back the sucker had already caught THREE FLIES. That's as close to instant as I've ever seen. I didn't even know I HAD three flies and it caught them in under a minute from install. 100% would recommend this product. It's not ugly, you can't see the dead (dying) flies when it's plugged in. And as an added bonus, my cats worship at the blue light altar for a few hours every night, which keeps them entertained. The only downside is that it's pretty wide and tall, so it was impossible for me to plug it into my existing bathroom outlet, which sucks cause a night light in there would have been nice. Update: The flies seem to be able to walk across the glue to some degree, two flies have escaped off to the sides and are cleaning their feet. I'll update this review in a few days once I see if the little idiots get back on the paper like good poop snugglers or whether they escape and I have to buy a different brand sticky panel.

It Works!
I bought three of these to combat an ongoing fruit fly problem in my building. They work! Their appearance is attractive and fairly unobtrusive. More importantly, flies are attracted to them, and do reliably get stuck to the removable/disposable sticky pad and die. The best part is that the sticky trap is concealed by the fixture itself, so you don't have to stare at all the dead flies collecting on the trap. When it's time to replace the trap, you slide out the sticky paper, trash it, and slide a new sticky paper in. It's really easy to do, and replacement sticky papers are affordable. They're attractive and subtle enough that you won't be embarrassed to have guests over, unlike giant yellow sticky traps or fly paper (both pretty gross-looking). They are quite large, 2 - 3 times the size of your average night light. They require a GFCI outlet. At night, they are pretty bright - enough light to use in place of a night light. If I could change two things about the design: 1) Allow the plug to be rotated so that you can adjust the mounting position of the light while still using the GFCI outlet, 2) Include an on/off switch on the light so that you can turn it off without unplugging it.
