Description
The Wonderful Adventures of Nils is a work of fiction by the Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf. It was published in two books, which are here combined in a single volume. The background for publication was a commission from the National Teachers Association in 1902 to write a geography reader for the public schools. She devoted three years to Nature study and to familiarizing herself with animal and bird life. She has sought out hitherto unpublished folklore and legends of the different provinces. These she has ingeniously woven into her story. Review: En klassiker! - Lätt att läsa och spännande. Review: Selma Lagerlöf - Lagerlöf i översättning duger inte för mig, jag vill bli bekant med "den äkta varan". Underbart! Den här pjäsan andas gott humör och den är så levande!

The original Swedish Nils story
I love the Nils Holgersson story, ever since I was a small child. I've always wanted to get it in Swedish and I love it. Not much to tell though, I think that if you're looking for this book, you know what it's about. Always when I see a flock of Canadian geese with a white one among them, I imagine Nils is somewhere out there too ;)
