This is the soundtrack to The Lucky One , a film adapted from the book by the best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, and starring Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner. The Lucky One is the seventh film adaptation of a novel by Sparks, among them hits such as The Notebook and Dear John . Australian director Scott Hicks, best known as the screenwriter and director of the Oscar-winning Shine , and for the movie version of Snow Falling on Cedars , tells a moving tale that calls out for sensitive music. U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive--a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm. The original soundtrack perfectly meets this need, and the album features twelve tracks with songs by ten different artists, in addition to an instrumental track by Hilmar. Review: The Lucky one - I love all of Nicholas Sparks books. They are easy to read, show great strengths and frailities of human beings. They are heart warming and a great escape from zombies and aliens!!! This film, the score and the acting was great.....so I purchased the CD to hear again the different pieces of music which married so well with the story line. This music will be played again and again. Review: Lovely tunes - Loved the music when I watched the film so bought the soundtrack. Most of the tracks are the type you could chill out to in candle light in front of a log fire. There are a couple of more edgy/upbeat tunes but they have grown on me since i've listened to it a few times
