Hercules DJ 4780730 Control Instinct USB DJ Controller with Audio Outputs

I had some trouble making my computer (with windows 7) recognize this DJ controller I had some drivers issues even when dowloading the last ones. But I after I got it working and playing with it for a couple of days now, I must admit it's an excellent controller. It has basic features like loops, effects, samples and cues and pitch and volume controls. I think it's an excellent tool to get introduce yourself to this DJ'ing world before upgrading to a more serious one. For me one of the basic features is the headphone pres listening, that is basic if you want to improvise. Maybe a reason why my experience with this controller is so positive is because I don't use the default software but I use Virtual DJ instead. I am a DJ and have been for a few years now. I love to scratch, I love to use turntables. I just overall love mixing music, and this portable beast makes my love for mixing even better in the go. MY friends love to come over to my dorm room and mix music with me. It is a great piece of equipment. I recommend this to anyone who is getting just getting started, or any professional who is just needing something on the go. The program I wish was better but you can port this Controller to Virtual DJ Pro easily.

Coming from the turntable days, hauling carts of vinyl, amp racks and some heavy speakers, this thing is a gem. The biggest drawback is a plus at the same time, it's small and portable, controls a ton of DJ programs and some midi based lighting software as well. The drawback is it's small part just a because a lot of clients expect some massive looking rig for their cash. I can fit this in my shoulder bag ( not even briefcase size, see " manbag" ) with a ton of music on the netbook, UBS's and portable hard drive. Everything about this unit feels solid, that being said I would have opted for a USB connector port instead of hard wired connection. Well worth the cash for working DJs, plays well with virtual DJ software ( has buttons for looping, fx and loading songs. No more plugging in micro jacks to your laptop, hum and buzz when you plug in said laptop and has a good internal sound card with headphone out. Only thing missing on this unit that I can see would be a mic input. You could then run the whole system with 2 powered speakers, stands and a netbook with some cables.

i just love this dj controller, its so easy to use. From t he first day i bought it i play music with it everyday, Headphones work the best with this, its for beginner djs, its very inexpensive, the construction is great its solid fun, i bought a different controller i dj live by ion, it broke the next day (it was cheaply made). its a great Christmas gift for all ages especially young kids who have to learn and explore music. This product is great for beginners, i have had this thing for several days its good, the only reason that I gave it a three star is because the dj software needs more work, I did update the software but needs a little more work, at first the program did not recognize any of my music(I saw the comment that said this) but later I downloaded itunes for my pc and move all my music to itunes, now it works flawless.

It's not a $300 console, so don't expect to get all of the features of a high end controller. But the features that are here work well. The enclosure is tight, buttons are solid and the lighted indicators are legible but not over-bearing in a dark setting.The pressure sensitive jogs work acceptably well, but if you're a hard core turn-tablist then keep looking. There are some features that I would look for in my next purchase (pitch sliders, channel gain knobs, a few other bells and whistles), but I can count on paying twice as much to get them. The integrated 4 channel sound device is sweet. Most higher end devices don't include this and if you're on a laptop that means you are either buying MORE hardware or using the integrated sound card which is probably 2 channel only. With this set up i can actually run 6 independent sound channels, though I typically only use the RCA outs on the console for mains and the console headphone jack for my headphones. Others have complained about the included software... I can't comment on that because I haven't used it. But I can say the included drivers work with Mixxx without issue.

Using a windows 7 PC. Tried installing the drivers from the CD, it doesn't work. Sound is distorted, and computer tells me drivers won't install. There's nothing wrong with my computer. Nothing else has problems on it. Well I'll be giving it a try tomorrow again but if it doesn't work I will be leaving this review the way it is. And returning the controller. Thing is a lot tinier than it looks in pictures too. Pathetic.

So i purchased this for my brother as he's music buff and wanted to get his hands on a dj console. I read a lot of reviews on amazon and finally decided to buy the Hercules Dj control instinct. When i gifted this to my cousin, everything worked fine except for the main crossfader. I contacted the Hercules support team and they confirmed that it is a faulty piece and asked me to return to the reseller. I was surprised that there was no solution to rectify my problem. Alas i had to take the gift back from him return it. Really disappointed with Hercules.

Es un gran producto para empezar a pinchar. El precio es bajo, y su funcionalidad muy buena, de diseño moderno y facil instalación y uso. muy recomendable para todos aquellos amantes de la música electrónica que quieren comenzar en el mundo del DJ amateur. Tras mucho buscar, recomiendo este modelo por su tarjeta de sonido y calidades.

Un prodotto che, secondo me, merita molto, ed è davvero ottimo e comodo. Sono riuscito a fare Mix abbastanza veloci da circa 160 BPM, c'è gente che sa fare di meglio, ma per via delle dimensioni, non è facile muoversi tra le jog ecc.. E' molto facile da usare a primo impatto, ed è carina anche l'estetica, inoltre non sono uno che bada tanto ai materiali, infatti la plastica non mi d per niente fastidio. Funziona perfettamente con DJUCED, il programma allegato, ma purtroppo, su VirtualDJ (senza Mapper ufficiale), il sync non mi funziona tanto bene. Però mi sto abituando di più a DJUCED. Riguardo spedizioni e resto, Amazon come sempre puntuale, data segnata 21 e così è stato. Devo dire anche che il fattorino è stato molto simpatico, quindi anche ottima scelta della SDA nel sceglierli :) Consiglio a tutti questa Console, per professionisti e non, e auguro un buon mix! ;)

Produit de très bonne qualité, fonctionnel, compact et rapide à apprendre à utiliser. AMAZON en plus avec l'abonnement Premium (donnant droit à la livraison 24h gratuite) me l'a proposé à 75€ (au lieu de 100€ vu dans un autre grande surface). J'en suis ravi et pour les débutants tels que je suis c'est un produit qui vaut amplement le détour! Le seul conseil que je Vous donne, (même si cela peut s'avérer cher), de le compléter avec un autre logiciel que DJUICE (celui proposé avec la platine) : il s'appelle VIRTUAL DJ (voir le site officiel [...]) et optez pour la version la plus chère (aux alentours des 250€ et pas la version gratuite qui ne permet pas de piloter Votre appareil) car c'est non seulement la plus complète, mais aussi la seule qui donne droit à piloter parfaitement Votre platine. En plus sans aucun effort, elle est parfaitement reconnue par le logiciel sans faire aucune fastidieuse manipulation. Sous Windows 7 64bit (celui que j'ai) elle est quasiment reconnue en totalité mais en y ajoutant les pilotes fournis avec le CD original, tout se passe très bien et c'est rapide à installer. Pour Vos soirées entre amis ou des petites fêtes c'est l'outil idéal!
