OverMolded Rubber Shotgun Stock for Mossberg 500 12, 16, 20, & 28 Gauge, Black - 05010

I bought stocks for my Mossberg 500 20 ga. and my 12. The attached pic is of the 20. Because the 12 ga. receiver is wider, and the stock is intended to fit the 12 & 20, I thought the Hogue might have a noticeable not-so-flush appearance where the stock fits up to the 20 ga receiver. I took the chance anyway...and it fits nicely on the 20. And it's a perfect fit on the 12. PROS: I like the wider hand grip area, rubberized-style texture, and steeper down-angle. Plus, the LOP is about 3/4" less than the original. CON: Overall, the construction is thinner than the original Mossberg stocks. The screw-in points for the butt pad isn't nearly as robust as the original stock. So, BE CAREFUL not to over-tighten the included screws. I've read that other users accidentally stripped the polymer. Overall, the stock and provided butt pad is easy to install, more comfortable than the original and well worth it.

Perfect fit on my mid 80s vintage Mossberg 500. Nice ergonomics and texture. Length of pull was good for my 5'6", 165# frame. I was able to use my OEM stock bolt with the addition of the supplied washer. NOTE: a stock bolt is NOT provided with this stock, as is clearly stated in the description. In some instances you will have to provide a different length bolt to attach this stock to your shotgun. The only comment I have which could be a negative is that the wall thickness of this stock is thinner than that of the OEM stock. I believe that this stock is probably just as strong as the OEM stock due to the type materials used in it's construction. However, the lightness and hollow sound when you tap on it gives the impression that it is cheap or flimsy.

I have a 45 year old Mossberg 500 that’s basically been a hunting/closet gun its whole life and it’s been a rough one. I decided to do some updating and picked this stock over the pistol grip style because of concerns about being able to get at the bolt release button. This overmoulded Hogue grip was a perfect fit and feels great. It came with the correct size washer and I just reused the original bolt for the wood stock. This looks fantastic with the Magpul MLok forend. Has a very ample butt pad as well, definitely top notch product

I was worried that this stock would'nt fit my son's Mossburg mini 510, but it works great! It did not come with a bolt as the original fit perfectly (the threads extend about a 1/4" from the face of it) a little loctite on the threads and a long flat head screwdriver and it was installed :) I tightened it up till the rubber like lip of the front part of the stock began to just fold over the receiver and it looks good. The inset circle on the face of the stock was a tight fit to the receiver which took some "convincing" but the bolt pulls it in tight. I like it so much I plan on replacing my stock on the Remington 870 next!

It’s ok. Sure seems thin and flimsy. It doesn’t balance out the rifle weight with being so hollow and thin. Not even sure how long it will last. I’ll go with magpul instead.

Easy to install (helps to have a long screwdriver) and looks great. I need a longer length of pull and this stock worked out great!

Needs a 5 ½ " bolt to install. Comes with the washer but no bolt. The hardware store doesn't carry 5 1/2" bolts so I used a 6" bolt and added washers to get the same thread depth out the front of the stock that the pistol grip had to make sure I didnt damage the safety . The bolt sits inside the stock pretty far so you will need a socket with an extension. Tip : Stuff a small wad of paper towel inside your socket so it takes up the empty space and allows you to apply pressure to the bolt head to turn it so it catches the body of the gun.

Fits the 500 but as others have said you need to find the bolt yourself (if converting from pistol grip).

The shotgun shoots a lot better now!

Very nice stock. It keeps my "Mossy" looking original but also adds more function with better grip. The butt pad is soft rubber so it does soak up some of the recoil. Two issues I have (reason for only 3 stars) is the hollow sound from the stock...Yeah I get it....its plastic and designed to be lightweight but this makes it feel cheap. I fixed this by putting in some foam to deaden the the sound. the other thing is I own the pistol grip Maverick 88 model and you have to supply your own longer bolt and spacers to make this work. This is something of an inconvenience.
