We used this to replace some slippery wooden out door steps and they will never again be a problem. They do require sturdy runners along the sides but that in itself makes them better stairs as well.

We have installed two sets of treads and the treads themselves are good. But the screws that come with them are completely inadequate - they rusted quickly and broke. Taking them out and replacing them with stronger screws was difficult and took much more time than just installing the treads. I strongly urge those buying the treads to buy sturdier screws at a local hardware store so you don't end up having the redo the installation.

Sturdy, non-slip aluminum treads that screw onto your existing steps. I covered a two-step stair and an 8-step stair with them. So much safer now! Excellent product!

The main reason I bought the product was to prevent slipping on the ramp to my shed but the product was just as slippery as my wooden shed ramp itself. It wasn't made properly. The product grooves / holes weren't fabricated to prevent slipping. Good try though. And I cant return it because it was so hard to install that it would take 2-3 hours to uninstall it. So I'll have to eat the product cost I guess.

Works well, secured with 1" stainless screws.

Install screws are of poor quality and have trouble going into new treated wood. Also nipples could have been raised more than they were. Overall I am more satisfied with this than current other alternatives just buy you own screws.

I waterproof my porch and steps this summer. Now the water sits on top. It gets icy and snows here so I bought these to put on the steps. They're not like the plastic that change shape and move around. They're sturdy they do grab a hold of the underneath of your shoe. They also have holes so they can drain water and not hold the water on top of them. I would buy them again.
