Fantastic Machine - So Easy To Use - Great Value
After purchasing a very basic and cheap (£30) machine from Amazon, which turned out to be little more than a toy, and then one that cost roughly £60 with 12 stitch types (you know the one!!) which also turned out to be useless and infuriating to use I decided to purchase this Brother This is the cheapest, known brand, sewing machine you can buy but it’s simply fantastic. It just works and works very well indeed No more constantly breaking needles and thread like the other two machines. You just thread it up, which is simplicity itself, and off you go I think for just £85, for a well respected brand like Brother, it is an absolute bargain. Also bare in mind that you get a 3 year warranty with this machine I cannot recommend it enough. All the reviews are spot on with this machine It’s also very quiet and can sew very slowly if required but can go like the clappers when you need to! As most of the other reviews have already said it’s a great machine and you just can’t go wrong I really wouldn’t waste your money on any of the cheap ‘mini’ sewing machines as they will infuriate you with how bad they really are, and sewing is supposed to be fun Totally and utterly 100% recommend this Brother sewing machine. I’m massively impressed and enjoying every minute using it UPDATE: I’ve now been using this lovely machine quite extensively repairing and altering loads of things and it’s been working fantastic. Not once have I had broken thread or needles. The only tiny thing I did notice is that you need to allow enough upper thread so when you start sewing it doesn’t pull through the needle, apart from that it’s a little wonder!! UPDATE 2: I have been using this Brother sewing machine for lots of different sewing projects and it’s been absolutely fantastic. Not once have I had a broken thread or needle. It just works and works very well indeed. It’s a complete bargain for such a great machine from a great company UPDATE 3: Please do not waste your money on the, so called, mini sewing machines from China. I tried a couple of them and they are just so frustrating to use and will probably put you off sewing for life. This is THE cheapest, known brand, sewing machine you can buy. The fact that it also has a 3 year warranty makes it a no brainier in my view UPDATE 4: I thought I had a faulty machine… oops! I read the instruction manual and thought that you could rotate the stitch selection knob all the way, 360 degrees, but discovered that actually you rotate it from stitch 1 through to stitch 14 and then back again (right to left & left to right)… hope that makes sense; the knob doesn’t rotate all the way round (360 degrees) UPDATE 5: This Brother sewing machine is still impressing me! It’s so easy to use and just sews so well. A totally brilliant machine. Please don’t bother with the ‘cheap’ toy machines from China as you will never be happy with them. Save up a little bit and buy this Brother sewing machine, it’s a real bargain for such a great machine

Impressed
Excellent sewing machine. Works perfect and very easy to thread. Quiet operation and very smooth. Great value for the money. It’s a compact, lightweight machine with a solid metal chassis, so it feels sturdy and well-made despite being easy to move around.

Great beginners machine
Fantastic little machine for beginners. It's sturdy enough that I can lug it to my classes each week without too much trouble and its fairly light compared to others. There's a decent storage part for needles/bobbins and it's easy to thread. I love that it's a top loading bobbin so I'm more likely to see when I'm running out of thread. Fairly quiet and a good little runner. I'm very happy for my needs.

Great Quality Sewing Machine-Good Value
Great little sewing machine. Works perfect and very easy to thread. Really like the drop-in bobbin feature. Love the size and portability of it too. Quiet operation and very smooth. Great value for the money. Had a previous "Brother" sewing machine and it lasted over 30 years. Hope this one does the same. And this machine is so pretty! :) Very happy with this purchase.

Highly recommend this sewing machine.
Excellent sewing machine. After reading all the other reviews, I was convinced this machine would work for me, and I haven't been disappointed. I'm not a professional seamstress by any means, but this has made a huge positive impact on making/altering my own clothes. It's easy to use in every way, very user friendly, and produces a lovely result every time. Great value for money too.

The Best Little Brother :)
Having used a Singer machine for the last few years I was a bit nervous about changing to a Brother machine. In spite of the Singer being a very temperamental machine when it came to which thread it 'liked' and would play nice for, it had been a great machine and got me through Lockdown and beyond and I was quite attached to it! While looking at the options available I saw this machine and thought the reviews were good, and I like the idea of being able to see how much thread is on the bobbin so went for it. I unboxed it today and it was very easy to set up and thread, and the bobbin was much easier to load and set; I made a few small things with it to try it out and was very impressed by this little Brother. It was quieter and much smoother than my old Singer, there were absolutely no jammed bobbin moments and no temperamental outburst about the choice of thread and not one single problem with the tension. It made the whole sewing experience much quicker and less stressful. There are plenty of stitches to choose from and although I haven't been brave enough to try the buttonhole feature yet I'm sure I will soon. All in all it is a lovely little machine and I am very pleased I chose this one.

5 month review: Great for beginners, great price - a few shortcomings.
After using the machine for 5 months, I've used about 6 different stitches, mostly straight and zigzag (variations of which is basically all you get with the addition of buttonhole). It's easy to set up, and it has a top-loading bobbin which is fairly easy to install although it uses plastic bobbins so make sure you buy the right ones for the machine if you're getting more - and you probably will need more. It only comes with three and that's really not enough. Thankfully you can get some more from eBay - just search for L14s bobbins. For quick and simple projects it's ace, although I find when straight stitching that it still goes a bit too fast, even if you're very gentle on the pedal - so you have to twist your fabric fast if you're going around corners, but I didn't have any problems understitching at that speed. I might get my partner to do some funky electronic work to make it better! I've used it with some quite chunky fabrics and many layers and though it clunks a little it does manage to get through. The sewing light is ok(ish), but the part you actually want to be illuminated actually has a shadow cast over it at night, so you'll still need that desktop light for your midnight sewing! Setting up is very straightforward, and has a standard bobbin winder which you select by pushing the spindle to the right and then use the foot pedal to wind. It has an on/off switch on the side of the machine which is great, as my old machine didn't! Swapping needles is a little bit fiddly with a wide bore screw head which is tricky, although not impossible to access. The reverse switch is conventionally located and is intuitive to use. It also has a thread cutter on the side of the machine, although I find I tend to use my own snips out of habit. You'll need a needle threader, as one isn't supplied and you thread it from front to back as usual. Very occasionally the thread has popped off the main arm inside the machine, which took a while to troubleshoot, but if it starts knocking and not sewing properly, that's something I look out for now. It's a Brother, so they're a well-established company, and the price is absolutely perfect for a beginner like me who just wanted to dive in. I've made half a dozen dresses, underwear, as well as maintained and hemmed some of my other clothes with it. One commenter mentioned needing a lot of tension on their machine, but mine is perfect, only needing turning down if anything on very fine fabrics.

Excellent sewing machine for a beginner!
This machine arrived quickly and safely. It was well set up and it just needed the bobbin filled and the spool threaded to begin sewing. I bought this for my eight year old granddaughter and when she was shown once how to plug it in and begin sewing, she was able to start creating. Not too fast, simple to change stitches and light enough for her to carry but didn't slide around in use. It came with extra needles and bobbins, and the instruction were easy to follow for the threading. It has a three year guarantee but hopefully we will not need it.

Buen precio
A Priori la máquina esta muy bien y más por el precio a la que la conseguimos, lo malo es que el enchufe no es español, pero vamos que con un adaptador no hay problema. Más adelante volveré y comentaré ya con un poco más de uso
