I have just bought one of these. Can you confirm it is safe for rats, not too abrasive for claws and safe to chew?

If your furry friend has the same claws as a bird..then yes it is safe..he can also chew away till his hearts content as my pair of love birds do .. Without any harm to themselves.

I would say, one piece of wood with a thin emery topping.

Would this be good for a 3 month old Amazon Green parrot?

I'm not sure how big your parrot is but this platform will only fit my two budgies or cockatiel on at one time. It's not that big and my birds are chewing at it to make it even smaller :-)
