The time to paint is after you get the first four stringers put on.
This is a great kid that was actually made out of plywood and not balsa. But believe me the pieces are easy to break unless you respect the process. I suggested you use small zip ties when you first start to put it together because getting the first four stringers started is an impossibility without this method.

Worst model have ever done
Have done at least 100wooden models. This one is def the worst designed. Don’t waste your money.
