Does this go fine enough to mist indoor plants?

It does adjust down to quite a fine spray so it should be O.k. for spraying plants. The actual sprayer even though it is made of plastic is really well made and has a feel of quality. I have had a problem with the hole in the spray nozzle opening up and now it is not possible to get a fine spray, I do spray a 50% vinegar 50% water mixture sterilising solution with mine and vinegar being slightly acidic may have affected the size of the hole in the nozzle, it would be best if this was made of a corrosive resistant material, if you are just spraying water it may well not affect the nozzle.

How far will the jet reach? I want to spray soapy water onto guttering to then clean with a brush and finally hose off.

I don't think this will reach anywhere near your guttering for the job you want even at Bungalow level unless your up on a ladder spraying directly I also don't think it's powerful enough to shift anything in guttering I hope you get lots of answers that might help you more I clean my own guttering I just go up on a ladder rubber gloves and clear out leaves etc. Sorry not to be more positive but def not powerful enough

How does it work? Could I use it for small balcony cleaner?

Theres a hand pump on the top that generates a decent amount of pressure for the spray. It's much more convenient than the finger trigger models. If you have a lot of plants on your balcony I'd recommend going with a larger model, something with a 5L capacity. This model is ideal for the maintenance of smaller house plants.

No it doesn't leak as long as you screw the pump section on tightly. It's pretty robust.
