VERY nice budget chest rig. Very well made to stand up to hard use.
For the money this is a VERY nice chest rig. Seems to be very well made and I think this thing will last quite awhile. It's a good, thick cordura material with good, heavy stitching. The buckles are massive so they'll hold up well. It has a huge amount of adjustability too which is nice. I have a nice, expensive USA made chest rig for my AK and this one is very comparable in quality which pleasantly surprised me. I did find the small bungee cords that hold the mags in a little on the loose side (especially when using aluminum GI mags) but that is a super easy fix. You just undo the knot, move them down a bit and re-tie the knot and boom, nice and tight retention. I prefer them this way because as it was out of the box they were loose enough that just shooting and moving around the tabs on top would fall off the top of the magazine and then the mags were basically just sitting there with nothing holding them in place and could fall out. After my adjustment they actually hold onto the top of the mags nice and tight and you have to grab the tab and pull them off the mag. Overall though this is a great chest rig. Unless you're a super cool guy with a ton of money to blow I'd pass on the high end "fancy" stuff like tactical tailor and crap and spend the money you saved on actually important stuff like ammo, more mags and training.

Not a bad rig at all.
Not a bad piece of kit for the price. Very slick and streamlined until you start hanging junk all over it. Works great for AR/STANAG mags. A lot of reviews contradict whether this works for AK mags so Iโll tell you the truth. It works ok for AK mags, the mag pouches have plenty of room and retain them fairly well EXCEPT the ones on the end. The pouches are vertical for AR mags so the two end pouches donโt have extra wiggle room needed for the lugs on a steel AK mag. So as long as you donโt mind have 4 mags you can use the outer pouches for your flashlight/radio/pliers/tourniquet/snickers bar. So if youโre running an AR, green light. If youโre a man among men and run an AK, yellow light. Either way itโs very well built and comfortable with the swivel snap points under the armpit.

Sizing problems? Start here!
I'm seeing a lot of complaints about this rig not fitting smaller people. As I've shown in a couple photos, the velcro strap keepers need to roll up the excess to allow for more adjustment. I could easily take it in another 10 inches around the midsection. This rig really can fit just about anyone. If you're going to keep the mag retention bungees, consider reconfiguring the ends to point down away from the mag openings. It just helps clean up the workspace. Unless you're doing airborne missions or doing tactical rolls, they really aren't needed. Maybe to keep mags in place for grab & go, but they WILL hinder smooth reloading under stress. Flip them out of the way when wearing. This is not my first chest rig. I have Mayflower rig and a High Speed Gear rig. If you want to spend a lot more, those are good choices. I bought a couple of these Condor rigs to hand out for classes. They are of decent quality, comfortable and lightweight, and the price is great. There appears to be elastic loops on each side for a tourniquet or flashlight. I stuck a glove in there for a photo. Nice touch! The D-rings on the shoulder straps are not in the way of shouldering a carbine and they are painted metal. The admin pocket spans the entire length of the rig and has drain holes. The mesh pocket looks like it will help vent a sweaty belly. The X strap retention in the back is okay but if find it easier to don and doff not using it. I like to have my rigs up high, about nipple level with the tops of the mags. It stays put a lot better when running around. The color in the photos is a bit more drab than the actual garment. I would say that the rig is more of a forest green that old school olive drab. I saw a review say that if one of the plastic clips breaks the rig is useless. This is not true. There are replacement clips that can be found on Amazon that slide into place with a slotted opening.

Much better than I was expecting. Unexpected features. No problems with sizing. Great value!
Great value. At the price, I honestly wasn't expecting anything great, but this actually is pretty great. I wish I'd had this type of system when I was still in uniform. I was able to adjust the fit no problem, but of course the military 2% rule on equipment usage applies here [You must be 2% smarter than the equipment you're using. If you can't figure it out, you probably shouldn't be using it.] The open web fabric lining the shoulder pads is a nice touch. I wasn't expecting the big pocket with a velcro patch inside, nor was I expecting the belly pocket. Both great features. Plenty of attachment points for your other MOLLE gear. NATO standard 5.56mm mags fit perfectly. This is really as good or better than the ones I've seen going for twice as much.

great chest rig
This chest rig is great, definitely recommend it for someone looking for something to throw on quick. It has plenty of space for an ifak and other gear. There are four elastic bands that can be used to attach cat tourniquets and the harness design is rather comfortable so wearing it for long hours wont be a problem. A lot of people say that they cut the straps.... DONT DO THAT, just roll them, they give you a system to adjust the straps and keep it neat. The buckles seem heavy duty enough to last a while. Is it five star gear? No.. is it five star gear for the price it is being offered? Yes. M4/AR15 style magazines fit well and don't move around much or make noise. Has one mesh pocket in the front that is good for a fleece watch cap and there is another interior pocket that can hold important documents or maps.

Good enough for training and light duty.
I've had my eye on this for a while. The Rapid assault gives you the option to add the pouches you actually want. I really don't like the double stack mag pouches or the fixed pouches of the Recon chest rig. This setup is great for extended range training. This thing securely holds 6 AR mags. The 6 chest rig mag pouches are for replenishing my 2 belt mounted speed reload mag pouches. There is plenty of molle real estate for whatever you may want to attach. There are also two elastic loops on both sides that are perfect to attach a CAT tourniquets or a sheathed fix blade knife. The shoulder and back straps are fully adjustable and secure. Once I got it all adjusted to sit high on my stomach, well above my belt line, it does not interfere with my mid ride pistol draw. It also does not interfere with my belt mounted pistol or Safariland AR mag pouches. Good to go. I may get the multicam. Update April 2019: I've completed my Rapid Assault chest rig setup. From left to right: Condor EMT lite ripaway pouch, North American Rescue Tourniquet pouch w/CAT7, Condor single mag pouch (multi tool), Condor double mag pouch (G17+2 mags), a Condor sidekick pouch, and a Mora SS fixed blade knife. Zip tie to keep everything tight and secure. I'm satisfied.

Excellent Stitching, Durable hardware, low profile, Good cushioning on shoulder straps
Prior service, I have a little bit of experience/frustration setting up kit. The molle vests we were issued were hot garbage, so we improvised/modified things we could find at the nearest AAFES and had them sewn together by local tailors. Basically ended up with a Rhodesian-esque rig that would attach/detach quickly to center line opening plate carrier. Our homebrew rig wasn't super modular, so adding/removing pouches was a pain. I wish I had one of these rigs back then. They really are the easy button. While Condor QC has been questionable in the past, I am very pleased with both the Recon Chest Rig and the Rapid Assault Rigs. Excellent stitching, Durable clips and Tri-glides (in the right places), excellent cushioning in the shoulder straps. The molle loops are well stitched, and both vests are very low profile against the torso. I didn't think I would like the Cross harness on the back, but the swivel clips near the waist make it work well. Even for bigger dudes wearing plate carriers, I don't think the cross strap harness will pose any issues.

Excellent Product!
Exactly as advertised. Fits close to the body and fits AK mags great. Tough material and will hopefully last for years and years.
