Perfect, useful and elegant.
Bought this after my wife had a serious neck operation; she's unable to look down in the way that we all tend to do these days with our devices. I'll keep this short but simply report that it's been an unqualified success. The design is elegant (in my book anyway) and very well made. The floor plate is sufficiently heavy to lend the set-up great stability. She uses it both for her Kindle Paperwhite in its leather cover and to read books, the latest being the heavy hardback Bill Bryson tome, In Search of Little Dribbling. I recommend this wholeheartedly. Just to note that she uses the Lecco with a device, the aLLreLi Dual Purpose Long-arm Gooseneck 360ยฐ Stand for 3.5-10.6 Inches Mobile Phone & Tablet aLLreLi Dual Purpose Long-arm Gooseneck 360ยฐ Stand for 3.5-10.6 Inches Mobile Phone & Tablet (e.g. iPad 2 / 3 / 4 / Air / Mini, Samsung Glaxy Tab 3 / 4 / S, iPhone 6S / 6 Plus / 5S / 4S, Google Nexus 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 10) - Black/Red which clamps securely on the Lecco just above the tightening adjustment collar on the main upright of the Lecco; she uses that for her Lumia phone

Convenient, sturdy, easy to use, relatively unobtrusive.
It's fine and, most important for a 90 year old makes reading from heavy book or tablet easy.

without getting terrible pain in my neck due to spondylosis
Helped me to be able to read in the bath, the bed and the chair, without getting terrible pain in my neck due to spondylosis. So a useful aid. Before i got this, for months I thought I'd never be able to read and enjoy a book again. A bit fiddly to turn the pages with some books but you do sort of get used to it. Quite easy to fix up and lots of ways to adjust the distance and angle to suit. The downsides are that it's quite heavy and cumbersome to move from room to room, or up and downstairs, (though I manage to do it sometimes) and for what it is, the price is ridiculous really. Also I have to say that for books larger or heavier than the average paperback it's a bit of a pain, the stand becomes wobbly and the books can fall out due to tipping. It can also result in damaged pages because of how the books are held in place and how you have to turn the pages. Depends what you want to use it for really. Worth having, but a bit of a fiddle sometimes. Must admit i listen to audiobooks more than i use the stand nowadays!

Built-in structural weakness
I am really disappointed with this product. It arrived quickly and was very well packaged. The overall design and finish looks excellent, but it was broken in transit. The book holder had come apart from the swivel arm because of what looks like a very weak weld point. Had it survived the postal journey, I doubt whether it would have borne a book of any significant weight. It's a real pity that, while the product looks otherwise sturdy and well made, it fails on the design of this one joint; what a waste! I have returned it today. I thought of ordering another, in the hope that it might arrive intact, but what's the point? It would probably fail quickly in use anyway. So now I must start again, trying to find another product to meet my unfulfilled need. If Lecco could assure me that they have fixed this weakness, I'd give them another try. Meanwhile, avoid this product.

Excellent product
Bought this for my Dads 84th birthday as he has severe arthritis in his hands and cannot hold a book for any length of time. One of the simplest pleasures in life is to lay in bed reading your favorite novel. Alas, he was unable to do this anymore until I found this on Amazon!!! This will hopefully bring him some very relaxing and happy hours reading for as long as he wants without suffering the pain of holding a book. Great product, well made and a very easy, smooth action when adjusting the position. Might buy another one for my Mum!!!

Overall, very good.
Works pretty well for what I wanted (a comfortable way to read while using both hands to take notes on separate pad / laptop). There are still one or two places where the design needs to be perfected... the plastic edges that hold the page open are, of course, a sudden source of frustration each time you go to *turn* the page! But I think there are "knacks" that I'm already starting to pick up, and I can't claim to have come up with an obvious solution to the problem, so I can't grumble too much! Overall, I'm very happy with the stand.

Solid but has some quite serious drawbacks
Quite a good solid stand, but the arm tilts annoyingly, so any heavier book is on an angle, which doesn't make for comfortable reading. The clips that hold a book in place are a bit fiddly and not particularly easy to move up and down and they also are rather poorly made, so I can imagine them damaging some books. Finally the height is not very easy to adjust. I wouldn't buy this again or recommend it.

Damages your books. Can't recommend.
Well built and sturdy, but way too complicated to put the book in and take it out, and turning the pages actually damaged them. Not good. We returned it and got the Serious Readers Book Stand, which is brilliant.
