Finally, the perfect brace!
I have a very painful trigger thumb that I will be having surgery soon. In the meantime, this brace has helped immensely with day-to-day activities. It's hard, so accidental knuckly bumps don't send me through the roof. I can use the very end of my thumb while wearing it, so i can type, use a mouse and phone. It assists with everything. I threw all my others one in the trash! The fit is pretty good, takes a little getting used to, but so worth it.

Good for doing wet stuff but not the best for all-day wear
This brace runs true to its size, it is good quality, easy to put on and take off, provides adequate support and can be used during wet shores. Definitely much better support than compression gloves/sleeves and not as bulky as traditional fabric braces. However, I don't find it comfortable enough for all-day wearing even with a sleeve under it.

Good product
I have a skier thumb injury and putting off the surgery. This is the best thumb splinter I have found. It's comfortable and allows me to still do my computer work. I do have to wear a glove over it when cleaning so it doesn't get wet or dirty. The sleeve inside is washable too.

Disappointed
This brace does give me support right where I need it. However, the edges were quite jagged and sharp and it scratched me the first time I put it on. I had to use fine sandpaper and an Xacto knife to make the edges smooth. Also, the part where the strap feeds through is very weak and fragile and I only used it a few days before it gave out. Now I have to try and figure out a way to keep it together. Because this is a medical product, and because of how much it costs, I expect better. Whoever designed this product needs to do a better revision of the product and whoever is in charge of quality assurance may want to review their quality control policies and procedures. UPDATE: I've now only used the brace 4 days and already the Velcro is coming apart because it's glued and not sewn. Now I have to deal with that. It's sad that I can't leave a better review because this is the only brace I've found that supports where I need it, but the quality is extremely disappointing.

Somewhat uncomfortable
I first bought a size medium, but then changed it for a small (my thumb circumference measurement was right on the border for both). The M was a bit large (per my physiotherapist), but the S is very tight - I sometimes struggle to pull out my thumb - but, the snug fit does seem to stabilize my thumb better. I have OA, and it does seem to help the pain (especially when working out at the gym.) The only thing is that it's a bit uncomfortable, as it sits right by the bone on the wrist. Given that I also have some wrist pain, it does not really support my wrist like another soft brace I have (and which I prefer to wear at night.) I do like that this is not bulky, so I can easily where it under a gardening glove, giving me the needed support when weeding and doing other yard work.

Great splint for immobilizing thumb
My 11 year old child had a thumb injury and had a hard plastic custom splint made at the hospital. Unfortunately the splint got washed away in the ocean on our second day of vacation and we needed to find a replacement ASAP. This splint was exactly what we were looking for and was very similar to the one made by an occupational therapist at the hospital. All hard plastic so my child could still swim. It comes with an optional cloth glove that can be worn under the brace to avoid sweaty hands. The brace comes in various sizes which is helpful. The brace is lightweight and very comfortable. There is a cushion by the wrist so the plastic doesnโt dig into the skin. The Velcro is very sturdy and has held up well and has not become loose even when wet. The splint is exactly what we were looking for, it has completely immobilized the thumb unlike the splints that are made out of material with the removable splint rod. We are very happy with this purchase.

Decent but too expensive
It works well, and I feel like it offers more support than other braces. But, after 1 week, its already falling apart! The stitching is tearing lose and the velcro is fraying. For the price, it should not be coming apart!

I'm so glad I bought this!
My MP joint has been very sore, even painful to the touch. I have arthritis in the joint that acts up occasionally, but this was different. I think I sprained it. I was using a soft style thumb brace which was helping some but I didn't keep it in consistently cuz I'm a compulsive hand washer and it was a pain to keep taking it off. I decided to try this one cuz it is smaller, a hard brace, and can be kept on while washing hands. Two days later and my thumb is soooo much better. Granted, the inside does get wet when I wash my hands but I can easily dry it and don't necessarily have to take it off to do that. Plus since it's hard I don't have to worry about getting it dirty while I'm making dinner, etc, cuz I can easily wash it and put it right back on. I don't use the optional sleeve all the time. I started with it but decided to try the brace w/o the sleeve and it's fine. I was hesitant to spend thirty five bucks on a thumb brace when my other ones have cost ten to fifteen bucks. But this was definitely worth getting. I'm so glad I got it. TIP: the Velcro section that is the sticky part to close it is very strong and will quickly stick to your clothes and snag them. So, as soon as you open up the brace, simply fold that section to stick it to the other section of Velcro before removing the brace. Line it up carefully cuz even the edges can catch your clothes! Learn from my mistakes. ๐. I saw another reviewer said it's not meant for someone who has to move their wrist. I have no problem moving my wrist! I can type with this brace on, use the dumbbells during exercise class, etc. I haven't found anything that I couldn't do with this on. Measure your top thumb knuckle to make sure you get the right size. If close to the next size go with the smaller size. I was surprised when I measured to a small according to their chart. But I ordered the small and it's perfect. A medium would've been way too big.
