Makes a perfect angel food cake
I was so afraid of making this cake because I've never made an angel food cake before. But now I need it gluten free and got the cake mix and an angel food cake pan (you really need one of these, people). And yes, angel food cakes take 10 to 12 egg whites, gluten free perhaps more because gf baking requires a bit more liquid. Anyhow. I make the cake and it lofted high and turned out beautifully and had that perfect cottony texture. Wasn't gritty wasn't too sweet could not have been any more perfect. I made a trifle with it and it held up just fine to the wet ingredients tho it was also wonderful on its own. I definitely plan to make it again (I bought two boxes in case I flubbed the first one) and serve it the traditional angel food cake way with strawberries and whipped cream. Perhaps I'll stock up and make some more trifle in the future.

Very good gluten free cake
I bought this to make a gluten free cake for a friend with celiac disease, and was very apprehensive about how it would turn out. It was perfect! Much to my relief, it rose up and was light and airy as an angel food cake should be. Everyone was happy, especially the friend who has been forced to give up most baked goods. He ate a big piece and took home the leftovers, with no ill effects.

Heaven Sent
I had missed my favorite cake since being told I had to go Gluten Free 3 years ago. Then I found Kinnikinnick Angel Food Cake Mix. I love this mix and my friends who are not Gluten Free also say it's wonderful. I can now have my favorite cake for my birthday as I have for many years. But I enjoy it many other times of the year too. This mix requires a lot of egg whites but I use the liquid egg white you can buy in a carton at the grocery store. It is a bit expensive that way but worth every penny when you take that first bit and enjoy the great taste. I use it as my base for Strawberry short cake but it's great with any icing or just plain.

Gluten free angel food cake mix
Cake was good, but not as high as other mixes I have used. And, after baking it did not get โbrownerโ. But thatโs ok, the flavor was good and everyone liked it. Thank you.

Great cake mix
Yes it takes a lot of eggs, but it's Angel food cake...that's what they do. It has a great texture. I'm not gluten free but I'm making it for someone who is, I was very impressed by the moist airy cake this mix made. Easy to follow instructions. It's a little expensive but it is cheaper than buying all the different flours I won't likely use again

Requires too many eggs to save time over making from scratch
Before going gluten-free, I had used Betty Crocker's angel food cake mix, which requires one to only add water and mix--takes 2 to 3 minutes tops to get from mix to bake. Now that I have to maintain a gluten-free diet, I was looking for a good GF angel food cake mix, and this one is the main option. However, the other reviews are correct. This requires the baker to separate and add TWELVE egg whites, as well as two teaspoons of vanilla. The only other ingredients are "Sugar, Potato Starch, White Rice Flour, Cream of Tartar, Salt," which most gluten-free households will already have on hand. Despite the reviews, I decided to give this one a try anyway. The flavor and texture of the cake are pretty good. But I spent about 20 minutes separating the eggs and mixing it all together. The instructions even called for sifting the mix, another point against. At that rate, this mix saves little time, if any, and isn't worth the cost--especially when you add the cost of the eggs, which takes the total to around $15. That said, if you don't want to keep potato starch and white rice flour on hand, perhaps you'd still find this worth your while. But otherwise, I would recommend skipping this mix, finding a good GF angel food cake recipe, and just making it from scratch.

Try it, you will like it
I made this cake yesterday for a birthday party. One of the guests is trying a gluten free diet. The cake came out great and couldn't tell the difference between this and a regular mix. It's more expensive as you are paying more for the mix and then must add the egg whites. i used a 16oz. carton of egg whites which equals 10 eggs. Then you either add two egg whites, or use 6 tbls. from another carton to make up the 12 whites needed. It would worked either way and the carton egg whites beat up just fine. The carton of whites cost me $1.99 at a wholesale grocer, a lot less than a dozen eggs and you don't waste the yolks. I would recommend this item. Making it once and a while as a treat outweighs the cost factor and it helps someone enjoy dessert.

I love this gluten free angel food cake mix!
I love this gluten free angel food cake mix! It tastes so good and itโs healthier than your typical angel food cake. It takes 12 eggs whites to make it, so it is a high protein cake. This is my go to cake for everyone gluten free in my life and itโs always a hit!

Tastes like angle food cake should taste
Excellent product, tasted just like an angel food cake made from regular flour. Be aware that you will need to provide 12 egg whites (about 12 ounces if you are buying liquid egg white at the store.) I did find it a bit expensive compared to the non-gluten free mix and cakes we used to buy.

Great choices for those needing Gluten Free products.
I make a dessert every Friday for the girls at a Thrift Store where I volunteer. It has to be Gluten free and in Canada you can only buy Golden or Chocolate cake mixes in any of the stores. When I discovered these on-line I was thrilled. It makes my choices so much interesting. the lemon is amazing and the Angel Food is just like a regular cake. I have never had a bad result. Thank you for having these products available.

Fantastic cake for anyone.
The taste is just like a wheat angel food cake. The texture is more dense. It doesnโt fall apart. It freezes very well. The pricing on Amazon has increased, I will be finding this elsewhere. The recipe requires 12 egg whites and vanilla. Not a big deal if you buy a carton of egg whites. However it is something to be aware of.

Excellent falvour and texture
Very very good angel food cake, even when compared to gluten cakes. BUT the preparation does take 12 egg whites so you are buying a very expensive mix of flour, sugar and cream of tartar.
