This flip latch is so cute and trendy. Most of all it's practical and innovative. I like that you can just flip it up and down to open and lock. Unlike the clunky, size-incompatible hook and eye that came with my screen door, this adds an appealing look to my door. It's heavy duty, and heavy! I feel I got the most out of every penny I paid for it. I also like that it holds the door secure and locks it in place. If there was any complaint, it would be trying to align it properly especially if the door doesn't flush right on the door jamb. You'll need another pair of hands to push the door flat to get the proper alignment and distance between the latch and the catcher. I also considered the placement (see photo). As some reviewers mentioned, there is a groove that cups the latch in place and can catch and trap water from rain, so I installed it a little higher just above where the recommended location should be. So far, it's been "safe" from the rain and had been dry in spite of several storms that we've had the past weeks. I'm very pleased with this and woud be my first choice when I need another latch system in the near future!

Can't say enough good things about this little locking handle of sorts. I had to install this on an AINCENT cabinet I got (it's over 100 years old) & it was tricky & tough to do (because if you don't square everything up exactly then these darn things don't work) I pulled it off and thankfully they work Great! Two Thumbs Up if you can get it right! (Kinda like installing hinges for a door, difficult & tricky, VERY EASY to mess up, but GREAT if you get it Right!) Even after a good couple of years here they are still SMOOTH, Don't squeak and work Great! (Despite the Dust Storms we've had in the desert here. Most outside stuff quits working pretty quick, the dust clogs it & IF It Lives then the dust just eats it away, like an acid. So *Shrug!* Yeah.)

Solid, simple, and the hinge moves with ease without being too loose. It was such a good find, I have to order a second one.

I needed A lock for a swinging door that goes from my living room to my kitchen. Something to make it so my dog can’t push the door open and come into the kitchen. This works perfectly. Love it and it looks nice, easy to install and worth the money. Very durable. Would recommend.

This is only getting one star as the functionality of the device is as expected. The finish on the metal is a smooth semi-gloss paint, bit a texture like in the images. The metal under the paint is dented and has imperfections which can be seen through the paint. The shape of the latch is just square and boxy no curves or radius like In the image. It states heavy duty but the latch and base plate are hollow not solid and seem to be made from a cheap lightweight alloy. Time will tell on durability but I do not have a lot of confidence. The box and label match something from cheap Chinese websites.
