Steel Bench Block Flat Anvil Jewelers Tool with Rubber Block and Stamping Hammer for Jewelry Repairing, Metal Stamping

I was most interested in the block and rubber base. The metal block is smooth, flat and heavy. It separates from the rubber base easily yet still fits snug when together. The hammer is a child’s toy. Extremely light weight and not suitable for any real use. The gold foil arrived flaking off from the head of the hammer and it was loosely attached to the handle. I tried to use it to strike a metal design stamp, just to see, and the stamp left a considerable dent in the head. I pitched it after a single use. 5 stars for the block and base - the hammer doesn’t even deserve a rating.

Heavy and heavy duty!! I love that it came with the a small jeweler’s hammer. It was really smelly out of the packaging. The steel square comes out of the heavy rubber base and was wrapped in plastic. I had to be careful because it was oily. Once wiped down, not a problem. It’s so nice to be able to use this for hammering metals instead of going out to the garage. Highly recommend!!!

This is a 3 piece set. The stainless steel block, a black rubber(?) frame which I'm guessing is a sound reducer,I don't know but it fits the block just right. The hammer is small but that's exactly what I wanted, if it were too big I'd be holding it really close. I needed something small and it works great and fits into my limited space. Very happy with purchase. :)

The surface had a lot of scratches and grooves that will show up on my wire when I hammer it for jewelry. The hammer that came with it has a big ol' C shape on the hammer head that will also show up in whatever metal I hammer. Not sure why that is there. The bench block comes wrapped in platic wrap and when you take it off, there is a pinkish, oily film. I am guessing that helps preserve it while in warehouse storage. I took dawn dish soap and scrubbed it off. I will just sand off the surface to make it smooth. What I like about it. I love the rubber block that you insert the bench block in. So much better than the 4 little rubber stickers on my last one. Very solid and durable.

Works fine, the only reason i subtracted a star is because the block is not shiny enough. Yes weak answer I know, but I like my tools to be aesthetically pleasing. Sorry no photo yet I need to set up a photo box.

Arrived sooner than I had expected. It has weight to it. I love working with it. You can take the metal out if you want to but I see no need. It did have some oil on it I guess to keep it from oxidizing before and during shipment which is no problem to me all I did was wipe it off and started working with it and I love it. Exactly as described in the pictures. The hammer that comes with it had no issues with it either I've actually used it a couple of times it gets the job done.
