Prismacolor Technique Art Supplies & Digital Art Lessons, Portrait Drawing Set Level 1, 26 Count - Creative Activity, Learn to Draw, For Beginner Artists

Ok so just to get started I’m an AVID art supply junkie and I’m not new to prismacolor AT ALL. I have purchased their 150ct of premiers TWICE lol I have supplies out my ears BUT I LOVE THIS SET. Here’s a breakdown of my experience and thoughts as an unpaid artist who literally does art all day everyday for fun. Also side note: in my finished picture it does include colors/mediums NOT included in this set and I was trying to limit myself to this set only but it felt so wrong when I have thousands of tools at my disposal so please keep that in mind as well. Pros: VALUE VALUE VALUE !!! These pencils are $1-2 EACH at my local art store and even more on here. So the value of this set is paid for if you simply purchased five of these individual prismacolor premier colored pencils. It comes with their watercolor pencils which I didn’t even know existed which kinda makes me mad cause I’ve been debating and shopping for the best ones on the market for months to add to my derwent inktense, Faber castell albrecht collection for watercolor pencils so when I got these I didn’t expect much cause there was a lack of hype.. My GOODNESS I AM MAD LOL I AM OBSESSED WITH THESE THEY MAY BE my new fav along with my inktense!! I will be purchasing a separate set of the prismacolor watercolor pencils right after I submit this review. They’re buttery smooth and CAN cover ugly previous laydowns where my inktense CANNOT!!! The fineliner here is SUPERB!!! Glides on paper no streaks or smears fast drying comfortable and feels high quality also my new fav!!! The packaging here is great love it feels like it’s very expensive!! The cons: No brown for landscape set.. weird imo.. so I used my intense madder brown to sub. The sharpeners great but hard to get to a fine point unless slanting pencils. It also doesn’t have a cap on it so shavings are everywhere. However, if you can use it properly, it feels like a very high-quality blade which I appreciate. The print out page Of the mountains looks like it’s partially cut off or like they used some crappy ink to print it but the papers thick though and good quality on this one demo page, however when applying watercolor, the page did buckle severely. This is NOT a review of the actually sketch book that comes with it just the single sheet that has the printout u can color. The instructions are very vague and I didn’t even bother finishing the videos so as far as instruction online, it’s lacking severely in my opinion like I said, I am an experienced colorist. However, I was hoping to learn more from this. I got very bored of the video and closed off halfway through. Came with an expired coupon. Lol You have to create an acct and login to be able to use this and doesn’t show you your code to redeem but luckily it linked mine somehow after playing around on their website for a min. Overall I WOULD DEF RECOMMEND THIS FOR THE VALUE I DONT NEED THESE COLORS AS I ALREADY HAVE ALL THE PREMIER LINE BUT FOR THE PRICE I WONT MISS MY MONEY LOL

If you are looking for a gift that is artist quality at the price of a student then look no further. I like these boxes because it has all you need plus you can keep your materials and you have the lessons to do at your own leisure. I got my first one from Target which it had plenty but it did not come with a pencil case so I got myself another box. Who ever created these boxes deserve an art medal because they have good quality items for an affordable price it is what all of the art community should strive for in my humble opinion.

Prismacolor is the only pencils my niece will use! This kit made a nice, useful gift and I was happy to find it on sale!

I bought this as a gift for my little brother to help teach him shading techniques. He likes nature and I will say this is a great start. Inside the box came with a variety of prisma products. It introduced you to different products without blowing the bank. It also came with a reference sheet of the techniques that will be discussed in the lessons. The downside to this is that there is no booklet or instructions on how to do the techniques. It makes you go online and redeem the code that is inside the box to get your lessons. If you do it via computer, the code is below the QR code. Other than that, this is a great introduction kit for anyone who wants to learn traditional technique or is beginning.

You really can’t find this amount of art supplies for this price. I paid $10 for each set so I don’t know if the price is going up while you’re reading this review. I would definitely recommend these. It’s quality stuff for a very, very low price and a great way to expand your color pallet.

Code had an error and I haven’t been able to get the lesson. I have purchased these kits in the past and never had an issue. Edit: they were able to get the code working for the lesson within 48 hours. Portrait level 1 lesson was great! Nature lesson 2 was great, but the water color markers do not blend well at all.

I homeschool my kids, and I thought this set was perfect for a nice art lesson. It comes with all the colors needed, and even the paper needed. The quality of the pencils is excellent, and the video lesson was easy to follow. She learned a lot, and made some beautiful art. I hope this company decides to make many more sets like this, that include the free lesson.

When I bought this it claimed the online lessons came included with the purchase and their is a promo code for receiving the online lessons however the company is trying to charge an additional $10 for the online lessons. I did buy this in May of 2024 and it’s now April 3, 2026. Maybe the online lessons that weee supposed to be included had a time limit on it because almost two years later I’m trying to use this. The company should repackage and state what the time frame is for using the lessons that come with this coloring set because I haven’t found that on the box. They need to make it big and clear. Make the expectations of what I’m receiving clear on the box. E.g. for an additional amount of money you can receive online drawing videos as this is not included with your purchase. Or this set includes online drawing lessons for the duration of a year from such and such a date after which you have to spend additional money to use.

Video art class link doesn’t work. Waste of money

This was a big disappointment to me. I live in the UK and none of the videos are available here. In fact the video for this drawing didn’t even seem to be on the website so it’s not worth buying if you live in the UK. Just buy a set of colours.

The first thing you need to know about this product is that if you try to access the online lessons advertised on the box from Australia you will get “Not available in your region”. There are no other instructions in the box for what to do with any of the contents, just how to mix colours. I’m sure the tools are probably fine usually, but one of the markers was dried out. I would not buy this again and am glad this was greatly reduced in price when I bought it. It is not worth the usual price, especially when you can’t access the video instructions.
