Hop Spider 300 Micron Mesh Stainless Steel Hop Filter Strainer for Home Beer Brewing Kettle

This hop spider is awesome so far. I used it twice the day after I got it. If you are still using the nylon bags I would recommend this as and upgrade. It is way easier to use, add hops to and clean. This worked great allowing the hops pellets to float around and stay in contact with the boiling wort. I only used 2-3 oz of pellet hops but this could hold MUCH more than that. This was very easy to clean after the brew day, I rinsed in off in hot water but not everything came off. I let in soak for about 5-10 minutes in my PBW solution and everything came off and clean very easy. The welds are very smooth and clean. The 2 support brackets are very sturdy and do not get too hot during the boil. NOTE: There are a few sharp wires inside where the seam is in the wire so be careful.

Used this to brew my most recent coffee stout. Was able to keep hops and coffee grounds separated during the brewing process to keep the beer from having too much debris. The build feels quality and is a good value. Does not seem like it will break down after a few boils.

Used to get big particulate out of batches of mead prior to clarifying. Worked for the job and cleaned up well afterwards

Why'd I wait so long to get one of these. Outstanding addition to the home brewery. No more messing around with nylon hop bags. Cleans up easy and seems to be holding up well after a dozen or so brewing sessions. Highly recommend.

I ordered the small version (4x10) but ended up receiving the large version (6x14). My 7.5 gallon brew kettle is 14" tall, so this will likely not hang off the side of my current kettle. Also, to my surprise, there was a dry hop filter included in my package. Product appears to be made well and the screen is fine, so few particles will make their way into my wort during brew day. Just hope I can make this work with my 7.5 gallon kettle.

In 4 batches, it has worked perfectly for me so far. Works well in my 8 gallon kettle, would likely work well in a 10 gallon also.

Excellent. I am using this instead of filter bags on my turtle setup. The filter bags are expensive and I don’t want to wash them anymore because they leave too much debris in my washer. This solution is much better financially and easier to clean!

Used this when I brewed a 5 gallon batch of Hefeweizen. Contained the trump nicely, yet infused the aromatics into the wort. Minimized the sediment that went into my fermenter. I would definitely recommend this item.
