Works, but kinda soft.
Works OK. Definitely a *hot* cut. Didn't hold a sharp edge, but used dull it works to cut hot mild steel. Will replace with something hard or install a hard edge in this when I'm using it more.

Does not hold up to light use.
I have used this Hardy tool once so far. The first test was against 1/2" rebar. It did part the rod, but began dulling the wedge rapidly, even when the material being struck was 'orange hot'. I then tried to use this to create forks in some 1/4"x2" 1090 flat bar. After the first fork the wedge has become borderline unusable.I will attempt to repair the edge and surface harden the tool but I can not recommend this to anyone who wants to use this tool for even mild steel for more than a few cuts.

Cold cut hardy
What I received is, without a doubt, a cold cut hardy tool, not a hot cut one. The body is chunky, with a dull edge.

Brittle
Started crumbling with the very first use

It will work for now.
It's ok. Even bringing metal up to forging temperatures, the cutting edge on this has saddled quite a bit from the metal after just 2 uses. But it did cut, and that is where the 3rd star came from. I have not struck the tool at all with my hammer. This will work for the time being until I get the chance to make my own hardy cut tool from tool steel.

Paint is annoying
Should be harder and the paint sucks. Iโd rather have it come unpainted with a layer of grease on it but then it would be harder for them to cover up any casting defects.

Excellent product
Cuts great

Works fine
Put it in my 110 lbs Vevor anvil. Works fine. A bit loose in the hardy hole but nothing to worry about. Done 4 hot cuts of 3/8" round bar no problem. Black paint came off the first time I used it.
