Arrived out of date!
This product arrived today (4th Oct) and looks like it is a month past the Best Before date - bit scared to open and eat and would ideally get an in date replacement!

Very good - very nearly 5 stars
Delicious miso at a reasonable price. It is quite a bit saltier than other miso brands I've bought (and I love salty food), and - as another reviewer has noted - it could be finer, because it leaves undissolved granules at the bottom of the cup. But, on balance, still excellent miso.

Very salty
I've been looking for a Miso similar to a couple that i brought back from Japan. This one looked promising and the reveiws were very good but i found the flavour lacking in depth and to be dominated by salt.

Great product great taste great price
Lasted a month in the fridge. Perfect taste. Made loads of miso soup and other fabulous dishes with this paste. Cant wait for it to be available again!

Too salty
Very salty and not as flavourful compared to other misos. Don't get me wrong it has a decent amount of flavour, but to really get it you need to add so much that it becomes unbearable because of the salt content.

Nice Japanese Miso paste
This miso is a bit thicker and chunkier being 'inaka' or 'countryside' style. If you prefer a very smooth soup without 'bits' at the end, you can use a small sieve and work the paste through while in the pot. I have one from Japan and I'm sure there are miso sieves somewhere online. The flavour is perfectly good and the family enjoys it. I would only add that while it looks quite deep in colour, it does not come out very dark. You would want red miso for that colour and flavour. Nice price.
