Mercedes-Benz SL Series (Mercedes SL) This book is excellent for readers who just have an interest in cars or, like myself, have the great joy of owning a Mercedes SL. The book has provided me with in depth information not easily obtainable elsewhere about the actual model I bought. It also provides a comprehensive history of the SL range and has a number of excellent photographs to illustrate the text.

An excellent all round book which majors on the original SL (70 pages) but also covers in good detail the subsequent versions ( Pagoda 20 pages , R107 '70s and '80s 25 pages, R129 '90s 24 pages and R230 17 pages) all the way through to the current 2002 onwards car. Recommended.

Not What I realy wanted. Needed Workshop manual

A truly brilliant book for anyone who either owns a SL or is interested in the car history.

Very intersting and informative history of the Mercedes Benz SL series of cars. Good narrative and wonderful photographs of these beatiful cars.

This is a true gem detailing the history of the Mercedes Benz SL series from the 1950's to the 2003 McLaren SLR. The story behind the story is revealed in verbose yet illuminating detail covering the racing pedigree, the personalities involved, R&D projects than never went into production (the C111 Wankel mid-engine of the 1970's comes to mind), safety considerations, and how the economic environment and later the "green economy" influenced the evolution of the SL series. Well-placed pictures of different model years and photo angles are strategically placed throughout the 192-page reference book. A necessary addition to the book shelf of any SL-series fan.

I got this for my father for the holidays this year. He has a Mercedes SLK. This book presents a very good pictorial and textual history of the Mercedes brand and of course the history of the Mercedes SL class. It is a focused book and might not have as much appeal to a general car buff, that is unless that person is into the SL class. That being said the authors present the material in a logical, interesting manner. Overall a fantastic history book on an influential car and brand. Thank you for reading my review.

I replaced this book with one I lost in the Central Texas, Bastrop Complex Fire of 2011. This book was in better shape than my original. Thanks to this seller for creating a smooth transaction. I would definitely do business with them again.
